Under the Stars
Din Djarin x Reader
Summary: When Din calls you by a new nickname and starts to act strange you can’t help but wonder why.
Words: 5,1 k
Warnings: fluff, angst, strangers to friends to lovers
A/N: With the start of the new season I just had to write something for my boy Din <3
Masterlist
Tumblr media
~~~
„Cyar‘ika? You coming?“, you heard Din‘s modulated voice asking from the outside.
You were currently packing up some things to take with you to the town and looked up as you stuffed the last things into your bag.
„Yeah! Give me a minute!“, you scanned the Razor Crest for anything you could have missed.
Just then it hit you.
That nickname was new.
You furrowed your brows as you remembered how everything began.
~~~
At first, staying with the Mandalorian hadn’t been quite voluntary.
You both had met on Nevarro when he had been on the lookout for a mechanic to repair his Razor Crest. Pretty fast he had found your boss‘s place who then had assigned you to the task. You had always had a thing for older starships, so it had just been natural for him to choose you.
The Mandalorian hadn’t really been talkative. He had only explained to you what was wrong with the Crest, then he had left the ship in your hands while he had gone off to run some errands in town. Of course, you had started with your work immediately and it hadn’t taken you long to notice your client’s little companion, a cute little green guy. The Mandalorian had left him alone in the Crest and so you decided to look after him as well. Both of you had gotten along right away, so you had taken him with you to the engine so he could watch what you were doing.
Only hours later the moment that should turn your life upside down finally had come. While you had worked on the final steps of the reparation the Mandalorian had suddenly stormed into the workshop, nearly a dozen other guys on his tail. When he had noticed that his little companion was with you he had panicked. He had almost yelled at you for it if you hadn't shot one of his attackers with your blaster and saved his life. You always had one with you as there were often customers who caused problems. Also, it was just safer that way. A big fight had broken out and you three had just barely escaped after you had fixed the ship in a hurry while he had held off the enemies.
Directly after the attack Mando and you had made a deal: You would take care of the ship and his little companion when he wasn’t around and in return, he would provide you with a place to stay, safety, and everything you required. Plus, he would drop you off on your planet when it was safe for you again. After the fight, not only a bounty had been placed on him, but also on you.
In the beginning, you had been in a lot of distress. Everything had been so different from what you were accustomed to. It also hadn’t helped that Mando wasn’t really up to conversations, but what, or more precisely who had made you feel better had been Grogu. The little guy was a ray of sunshine and soon you and he had grown to be best friends. He loved to watch you while you repaired stuff and one of his favorite things was going to the market with you. You always bought little trinkets or snacks for him even though Mando always made his point to only get the bare essentials. Still, you couldn’t help but disobey. Grogu had won your whole heart with his happy personality.
In contrast to this, warming up with the beskar-clad warrior had taken a little more time. You always had to initiate the conversations first and it had been really hard to get any information about his life out of him in the beginning.
Everything finally changed after you had saved Grogu during an attack on Corvus. Some bounty hunters had surprised you while you and Mando had taken care of some issues with the Razor Crest. The warrior had managed to take out most of them, but then one had shot him in the shoulder and had tried to escape with the child. Luckily you had been able to get ahold of him at the last second. Afterwards, you had patched up the Mandalorian and he had been incredibly thankful to have had you with him. He had even started to use a nickname for you, burc‘ya, which meant friend in Mando’a, and told you his real name: Din Djarin.
Since then, your conversations felt a lot more natural and you didn’t feel like you were only working for him anymore, no, instead you felt like a part of their small union. Joking around had become a daily thing and the both of you knew that you had each other's back. It was like you were a little family now.
A few months after that event you had decided to help Boba Fett on Tatooine. He had become the new Daimyō of Mos Espa but the citizens hadn’t really accepted him. In order to solve that problem he had wanted to unite the crime syndicates in peace but the pyke-syndicate just had to be the odd one out. A massive fight had been on its way and you and Din hadn‘t wanted to let Boba down. In fact, that hadn‘t been the only reason. You both had been looking for some distraction, too. Grogu had left to train his force abilities with Luke Skywalker a few months ago and since then it just hadn’t been the same. The new task had done both of you really well and you had even forgotten that you missed the little guy.
At least for a while and finally the day had come when everything had escalated. The other crime families had betrayed Boba Fett and had started to attack his soldiers throughout Mos Espa. Din and you had been doing the best you could to support him but it had been getting really hard with all those enemies and Scorpenek droids until suddenly someone you knew just too well had shown up.
Him.
Peli Motto, a friend that hat helped you once with the Razor Crest, had arrived with Grogu in tow. The small one had saved the day not only with this surprise but also by lulling Boba‘s rampaging rancor to sleep and finally the three of you had been united again.
~~~
That had only been two days ago and you were still incredibly glad that your little friend was back.
„Alright. Come on.“, you held your hands out for Grogu who had been watching you and he didn’t need to be told twice.
Without hesitating he jumped into your arms by using his new abilities and you caught him while laughing.
„Okay. Let’s go. Your pops is getting impatient.“, you stepped out of the Crest and Din turned around to you.
His helmet tilted a little and he put his arms on his waist like he was admiring the both of you, then he nodded towards the city.
„This way.“, he said.
He set into motion and you caught up to him.
„This is the way.“, you murmured jokingly with your best Mando impression.
Grogu giggled and you felt Din‘s stare on you. You cleared your throat as you straightened
„Sorry, that was…“, now you felt a little silly. „…dumb.“
Instead of getting a lecture about his codex, as you had expected, you heard Din snort quietly instead.
„It’s okay, cyar‘ika.“, he answered. „It was quite funny, to be honest.“
There. Again.
„Really?“, you cocked an eyebrow.
„Really.“, he nodded and put his hand on your back to get you both back to a faster tempo again. „Just don’t make it a habit.“
„Okay.“, now you smiled a little, maybe even more at the feeling of his hand on your body than him telling you the truth.
It went silent for a while, but it was that comfortable kind of silence. Soon you reached the border of Mos Eisley.
„So…what’s the plan?“, you spoke up.
„First we should get those droid parts to Peli. It’s a gift to thank her, after all, she brought Grogu back to us. She’ll be happy about another little helper.“, your friend told you, his armor clanking as you both made your way to Peli‘s hangar. „Then, I thought, we could go to the market. We should stack up on food and other things. What do you say?“
He looked at you and Grogu babbled excitedly.
„You heard your son.“, you chuckled.
It was decided. Peli was very happy to see you again, probably the most to see Grogu. However, she eyed the droid parts with some skepticism at first. You quickly got to work putting it back together and when the little helper turned out to be a better worker than her current droids, Peli was satisfied, too. You talked a little more, then it was time to go to the market.
„Do you need anything?“, Din asked, when you entered the area.
Colorful stands with all sorts of things surrounded you, music, fresh and delicious food, you name it. Everything could be found here.
„Hmm…“, you pondered. „I don’t know. But maybe I could stroll around a little. It’s been a while since I last had the time to do that.“
„Sure.“, to your surprise the Mandalorian nodded.
He rummaged through his pockets, then he handed you a little bag with some credits.
„Wait, really?“, you were baffled. „Since when are you so generous?“
Din shrugged.
„Since Grogu’s back.“, he said. „Also, Boba Fett gave me a little something as a thank you.“
„Oh.“, you couldn’t quite realize his words.
Only when he closed his hand around yours with the money you seemed to understand.
„Enjoy yourself.“, Din said. „I’ll get us everything else.“
With that, he left you both alone. You stood still for a few seconds before you began to move toward the stands.
„Unusual, but I’m not saying no.“, you murmured, and as soon as you saw the first fried foods you were in your element.
You got yourself and Grogu your favorite snacks, then you both made your way through the market. As you walked through the food area you got a few ingredients and alcohol for tonight's dinner. To celebrate the recent events, you wanted to make Tiingilar, the traditional Mandalorian stew, which the child and Din loved so much. Aside from that, a few other small items, mostly for Grogu, ended up in your pocket.
After that, you decided to take a look at the stands with clothing and fabrics. For a while now you had wanted to buy a new cloth for covering up. Your recent one had to be at least ten years old by now and was riddled with holes and tears. Still, it was a little hard for you to let go of it. It had been a gift from your late mother before she had died but to be honest it wasn’t much fit for its original usage anymore. Maybe you could use it as an accessory to hang on your belt, but that’s it.
Sighing you looked at the prices of a few shawls you liked. All of them cost too much. You had used most of the credits for the things you had already bought and now there wasn’t nearly enough for a new cloth. A quiet curse fell from your lips and Grogu looked up at you. He cooed at you, worry in his eyes, but you gave him a small smile.
„It’s alright. Maybe next time.“, you told him, then you went on to the section of the market where they sold cheaper stuff. When you finally ran out of credits you rejoined Din, who you'd seen at a gun stand.
„You done?“, he wanted to know, when he saw the both of you.
„More like: all gone.“, you laughed and gave him the empty bag back.
Chuckling he took it and put it away.
„Well, at least it seems like you had fun.“, he said.
„Very much.“, you were grinning from ear to ear and the child cooed.
For a while Din only looked at you in silence, but it didn’t bother you. Instead, it felt like he was smiling at you, too, and it just made you incredibly happy.
„Okay, let’s get home then.“, he cleared his throat, placed his hand on your back, and led you out of the crowd so you wouldn’t be separated.
While walking back to the Crest you talked a little about this and that and about what would happen in the next few days. When you arrived at the ship you helped Grogu into the little capsule he was usually in, so he could take a nap. It seemed like the visit to the market had been somewhat exhausting for him, but that was just alright with you. Now you could prepare the stew in peace instead of watching out for him while doing so. He liked snatching raw meat pieces from the cutting board way too much.
You collected a few utensils for the cooking, then you joined Din outside. He was putting a fire together and you saw that he had already prepared a place for you to sit.
„Thanks.“, you said while you took a seat.
He just waved it off as nothing but you still appreciated this act. It showed you that he cared about you, even if he didn’t say it or more precisely didn’t like to admit it. You had been noticing it for three or four months now. Sometime after the incident on Corvus he had started to support you a little more with your tasks. Whether it was buying a little pouch for your tools or letting you sleep in his bunk bed that was a little bigger than your hammock after a peculiarly stressful day, just random little acts of kindness.
You watched Din while you were chopping the veggies and the meat and when he was done with the fire he sat down next to you. Like he didn’t notice your gaze on him he pulled out his blaster and went on to clean and polish it. As you chuckled to yourself quietly you put the vegetables in a pot and started to roast them over the fire.
„What?“, you heard the beskar-clad warrior ask.
You looked at him.
„Oh, nothing.“, you smiled and stirred the food.
His helmet tilted like he was giving you that one specific look when somebody doesn’t believe you.
„Well.“, you shrugged now. „It just seems a little funny to me that you're cleaning your gun again. You already did that yesterday.“
At that, he averted his gaze from you.
„It fell down into the sand when you tugged Grogu in.“, he told you.
A lie. His blaster was always tightly secured at his waist.
„Sure.“, you snorted.
It went silent as you grinned to yourself, still, you were a little suspicious of Din’s behavior. It was like he was nervous. Normally he would’ve already talked to you while making the fire, but today that hadn’t been the case. Instead, he seemed a little tense.
You breathed out and added the chicken to the roasted vegetables. After it had browned on all sides you added all the other vegetables, the liquids, various seasonings, and the couscous, then you covered the pot and stood up. Just as you tried to enter the Razor Crest you heard Din’s voice.
„Y/N.“, he said your name.
„Yes?“, you turned towards him.
The Mandalorian was standing now, too, something in his hands behind his back. He got closer to you and cleared his throat.
„I…uh…I got you something from the market.“, he told you.
Your eyes widened a little in surprise, even more as he pulled out one of the shawls you had looked at in Mos Eisley.
„How did you know?“, you murmured as you took the cloth from him.
For a few seconds, you let your gaze wander over the material then you looked up at Din.
„I saw you looking at some of them after I had done the errands.“, he explained. „When you left without buying one and seemed a little upset about it I decided to get you one.“
Now a smile started to spread on your lips.
„Thanks, Din. That’s kind of you.“
„No problem. Really.“, again he tried to not make a big deal out of it.
„Still. You didn’t have to do that.“, you said while removing your old cloth and putting it on your belt as you had thought about.
You wrapped the new shawl around your neck, then you slowly spun around for Din.
„What do you think?“, you asked.
„Mesh‘la.“, he said softly, and you frowned a little since you only understood a few words in Mando‘a. „It suits you.“
„Oh.“, you grinned now. „Well, thank you, dear sir. I’ll take good care of it.“
Finally, you had managed to get a little laugh out of Din, too, and after you had thanked him for a second time you went inside the crest and to the small „bathroom“.
Smiling like an idiot you admired yourself in the mirror and couldn’t help but blush. At first, you hadn’t wanted to admit it to yourself, but a few months ago you had started to get this weird feeling in your stomach every time you had been around Din. You had waved it off as being a little unwell, but that hadn’t been the case at all. You hadn’t felt bad or sick around the Mandalorian. Not even the slightest bit and eventually, you had realized what it had been, when Din had saved you from a few bounty hunters and had gotten really close to you in the process of it. You had fallen in love with him, with the man who had always struck you as cold and unapproachable, but after the incident on Corvus everything had somehow changed between you.
Now, nearly four months after this realization, you were still scared of telling him. First of all, it sometimes was still really hard for you to tell what was going on in his head and secondly, you didn’t know whether Mandalorians were allowed to have a partner or not. After the fall of Mandalore, a lot of information on its citizens had been lost and you just couldn’t seem to find a thing about this kind of topic. But what kept you from admitting your feelings to him the most was the fear that he might reject you and you would have to leave both him and Grogu. Of course, he had told you that he would drop you off on Nevarro as soon as it was safe for you again, but somehow you didn't want that anymore. You felt incredibly comfortable in your small group and honestly couldn't imagine life without them.
A worried sigh fell from your lips as you averted your gaze from your reflection in the mirror and you started to chew on your lower lip.
No. It just wasn’t the right time for telling him right now. Not when you weren’t sure about his own feelings.
You washed your face with cold water to calm yourself down a little, then you woke up Grogu. The stew wouldn’t take long anymore, so you took him outside with you and saw Din staring into the fire. The child babbled excitedly at the smell of the food and you chuckled.
„He’s hungry.“, you said while you sat down next to the Mandalorian. „Here, I’ll check on the stew.“
You handed Grogu over to Din who only nodded, then you lifted the lid of the pot and stirred the contents.
„Yup. That’s good.“, you observed and took Grogu‘s small bowl to fill up first. „Here you go, buddy.“
You handed him the food after Din hat sat him down between the both of you. Happily, he started to gobble it up right away. Laughing you prepared a portion for Din and yourself, then you gave him one of the apple ciders you had bought at the market, too.
„To us being united again.“, you said.
„To our little team.“, Din clinked his bottle against yours and you turned away from him so he could take a sip in privacy.
While you were eating you did the same. You were used to it since you had been doing it ever since you had been staying with him. Respecting each other was really important to you, so you always made sure that you couldn’t see his face when he needed to lift his helmet or get rid of it. Even when he had revealed his face to Grogu before Luke Skywalker had taken him with him you had looked away.
„That’s really good, cyar‘ika.“, Din told you after his first bite and you thanked him.
It occurred to you, that he had used your new nickname again and in your mind, you made a little note to ask him about it later when Grogu would be asleep.
As you enjoyed your meal you tried to do some more small talk with him but today he just felt off. He only replied in short sentences and you always had to initiate the conversation so after a while, you gave up with a small huff.
After everything was devoured the three of you sat in silence for some time until Din got up and offered to do the dishes. In return, you entertained the child until it was tired enough to go to sleep.
„Okay. Let’s get you in your bed.“, you said as Grogu yawned for the fourth time now.
You stood up and carried him to his little capsule inside the Crest.
„Sleep tight, little one.“, you covered his body with the blanket and kissed his head, but he had already dozed away and didn’t respond anymore.
Smiling you watched him for a while, then you went outside again. You laid down at the fire and stared up at the stars until Din returned. He seated himself and tilted his helmet towards the sky, too. In silence, you both searched for star constellations and other planets like you always did. Normally you would talk while doing that, but again, not so today. You began to ponder what could be going on and when you didn’t find an answer you had enough.
„What’s wrong, Din?“, you asked your companion.
You looked at him and through his helmet, your gazes met.
„It’s nothing.“, he said. „Don’t worry about it.“
Sighing you sat up.
„You’ve been acting strange all day.“, you replied. „It’s not nothing.“
“I just have to get used to Grogu being back. That's all. Really.”, Din turned his head away from you again and looked into the fire.
You weren't happy with that answer.
„What about yesterday? You were acting completely normal then. Yeah, Grogu was gone for a while but not that long for you to need to get accustomed to it again. Hell, to me it feels like he’s still our little guy from back then. Nothing has changed.“, you didn’t understand why he would say something like that.
„Everything has changed, cyar‘ika. Everything.“, now Din was the one to sigh.
You weren’t having it but gave in nevertheless. He didn’t seem like he wanted to argue with you about it.
„Alright.“, you huffed and crossed your arms in front of your chest. „What’s up with the new nickname anyways?“
With that, it went silent. Din just looked at you, unreadable through his helmet.
„Why?“, he asked after a few seconds.
„Well, what does it mean? I know that burc’ya means friend, but I’ve never heard that one.“, you said.
Silence. Again.
„You don’t have to say it if you don’t want to.“, you finally said, after a few minutes had gone by. „I just hope it isn’t an insult.“
You chuckled and hoped your joke would lighten the mood. In fact, Din now reacted, but in a very different way than what you had expected.
„I would never insult you, cyar‘ika.“, he answered harshly, then he took a deep breath and his voice got softer. „It…it means sweetheart.“
That you were baffled was an understatement.
„It means…“, your lips parted. „What?“
You couldn’t quite realize what was going on.
„Cyar‘ika means sweetheart…or darling.“, Din repeated himself and turned his head away from you.
„You call me sweetheart?“, you whispered.
When he didn’t react you put your hand on his.
„Please look at me.“, you chewed on your lower lip looking at him, hoping to finally understand the situation.
Slowly his gaze met yours again.
„Yes.“, he finally said. „You see…that’s part of everything. Yeah, the little one is still the same, even with his new abilities, but when he got back…I…I just realized how much he means to me. How much you both mean to me.“, he took a shaky breath. „I always thought I would be that ice-cold bounty hunter, always alone, even in death, and then Grogu showed up. He turned my life upside down and a few months later you joined us. At first, you were...well...like a burden that I had to worry about as well, but over the weeks you've become so important to me. I noticed that you cared about Grogu and me. You helped us both out of trouble several times and I am infinitely grateful for that. And after Grogu was gone, I realized all the more how much you mean to me. It broke my heart to let him go, but you somehow managed to keep me from falling apart completely. And Grogu's return made me understand that. I...I‘ve fallen in love with you. It scares the shit out of me to admit it, but I can't hide it from you anymore. Not when I might have to let you go again in a few days.“
After this confession, it was like your heart had stopped beating.
You just looked at him in utter surprise and couldn’t seem to form a coherent sentence in your head anymore, so you just managed to say: „Why would you have to let me go?“
„Because…“, he sighed. „I got a message from Nevarro, from Magistrate Karga. He told me that we should visit sometime soon…and that the bounty on us has been withdrawn. You can return to your home again.“
He pulled away from you and you widened your eyes, breath getting caught in your throat. Shakily you scooted closer to him and cautiously laid your hands on both sides of his helmet to turn him towards you again.
„But I am home, Din.“, you told him. „I‘m with you and Grogu and that’s all I need.“, you bit your lower lip now. „I‘ve fallen for you, too, so…I won’t leave. Never.“
Through his helmet you could hear his breath hitch, then, ever so slowly he leaned into you until your forehead softly met the cold beskar.
„Dank farrik.“, he cursed quietly.
You chuckled.
„What?“, you whispered amusedly.
„I’m just very relieved.“, now you could hear him laugh a little too and you closed your eyes, grinning from ear to ear.
„Me, too.“, you said. „I…I was also really scared to tell you about my feelings. With that helmet of yours, it’s hard to read you, you know…and I didn’t know if the creed allows romantic relationships.“
You looked at Din again and backed away a little, your hands leaving his helmet.
„It does.“, he told you. „Still, I can’t show you my face. Even if you were a Mandalorian.“
Slowly you nodded.
„That’s completely okay with me.“, you then said. „I just want to be with you.“
Again you tried to lean into him, forehead against his helmet but this time he stopped you. Confused you looked at him.
„I can’t show you my face but that doesn’t mean that I can’t take off my helmet.“, Din’s voice had gotten a little hoarse and you gulped. „I want to kiss you. Is that okay?“
„Please.“, it was only a whisper but you meant it more than you had ever meant something.
With that, Din grabbed your new shawl and softly tied it around your head so you couldn’t see him anymore. As you nervously waited for his next move you could feel your heart rate increase again, especially as you heard the hiss of his helmet when he took it off.
Next, suddenly his naked hands were gently cupping your face. You hadn’t even noticed that he had taken his gloves off. Wincing you sucked in your breath but soon relaxed into his palms. His skin on yours felt incredible, so different from what you had thought. Of course, other humans had touched your skin before him, but this was something special. Din never revealed his skin, only if it was necessary.
Shakily you took a deep breath.
„Can I touch you, too?“, you asked.
„Of course, cyar‘ika.“, he said. „Please, touch me.“
He craved this just as much as you and so you cautiously let your hands travel up his body, towards his neck and finally you felt the skin of his face. Your breath hitched and you couldn’t help but smile. He felt soft underneath your fingertips, a little rougher at his jaw, where he seemed to have grown a stubble. Curiously you traced his features. At first from his cheekbones to his forehead, then from his nose to his jaw again, and finally, your thumb brushed over his lips.
„You’re beautiful, Din.“, you told him.
„Please, let me kiss you.“, he suddenly whispered.
You nodded eagerly and your fingers wandered to his hair, soft short locks in which you buried them. Slowly you could feel Din lean in until his breath ghosted over your lips. Weakly you breathed out and then, finally, his mouth was on yours, softly and incredibly gentle. Carefully his lips moved against yours and you arched into him.
Never had you imagined it to feel this good and, fucking hell, did you need it.
With more passion he deepened the kiss now, his tongue gently meeting yours and a groan escaped his throat. His hands tugged at your waist, moving you even closer towards him. Fireworks seemed to explode in your stomach as he helped you onto his lap and it only intensified, when he withdrew to kiss your neck instead.
You suppressed a moan and just then you heard his whisper close to your ear.
„It’s okay. Let me hear you, cyar‘ika. You’re mine and I am yours now.“
You wished you could have stayed home. Realistically it probably would have been the best idea, but you also knew that your mother would never allow you to skip school for something so menial such as your period. Even though it was a well known fact that your periods could be brutal sometimes, making it almost impossible to think or focus on anything but your cramps. But you were tough, Eddie always reminded you of that, so you were going to suck it up and deal with it.
But honestly? It fucking sucked.
It was barely halfway through your second class of the day and you were already suffering. It was going to be a long day…at least you were able to look forward to the evening with your wonderful boyfriend. If you made it that far anyway. Dramatic? Yes. Justified? Also yes.
At least you had enough foresight to keep a bottle of painkillers in your locker. Maybe that would help a little bit - worth a try anyway. You excused yourself so you could go to the restroom, grabbed your bag so not everyone had to see what you were doing, and stopped by your locker first.
When you closed your locker again, a small yelp escaped your lips. There was none other than Eddie, standing there with a big smile on his face, “fucking hell, Eddie!”
“Sorry sweetheart,” he pressed a playful kiss to your cheek, “thought you heard me coming.”
“You’re silent like some kind of weird ninja,” you waved your hand around to which he only grinned, “or I’m too wrapped up in my own thoughts. Wait - what are you doing out of class?”
“Doesn’t matter - penny for your thoughts?”
“Eddie.”
“Fine,” he sighed dramatically, clutching at his heart as you just snorted at him, “I saw you leave class and followed after you. Had to make sure my best girl was okay.”
“‘m fine,” you murmured, trying to play it off like it was no big deal. You didn’t need him to worry about you on top of everything else, “you can go back to class, Eddie. I was just running to the bathroom.”
“When did you decide to start lying to me?” he raised an eyebrow curiously, your face flushing with warmth when you realized how easily he could read you. You opened your mouth to speak, but he put a finger on your lips to keep you from speaking, tutting gently, “honesty is the best policy, my love.”
“Eddie,” his name came out as a smushed murmur as he shook his head, “‘n not lying.”
“Wait,” his brows furrowed for a moment, pretty chocolate brown eyes studying you intently. You wanted nothing more than to lean in and kiss him, but his finger was still squished against your lips. It didn’t stop you from pressing a kiss to it, “I know what’s going on! It’s your least favorite time of the month, aka you’ve gotten your period.”
Your fingers wrapped around his wrist, pulling his hand away from your face as you looked at him incredulously. Your heart melted as you looked at your metalhead in surprise, “h-how do you know that?”
“I…how wouldn’t I?” he looked at you in confusion as though it should have been obvious that he possessed this piece of knowledge, “you get it every month, it’s pretty much like clockwork for you….it’s not that hard to keep track. ‘specially after that one time when the condom broke and -”
“Eddie!” you hissed softly, looking around to make sure no one had been listening in. Luckily, it appeared to be just the two in the quiet, abandoned hall, “don’t worry, I remember that too. But, you…you keep track of it?”
“‘course,” his smile was always so magical - all toothy and sweet, showing off his dimple, “how else am I going to know when you’re suffering? I have to make sure so I can take care of you.”
Oh. Yeah, you were a sucker for this man, pure and simple. Your eyes prickled with tears, causing you to blink rapidly in order to try and keep them at bay. Eddie reached over and put his hand on your face, brushing his thumb over the apple of your cheek, “I love you, Eddie.”
“I love you,” he kissed your forehead before reaching for your backpack, “now let’s get out of here so you can rest.”
“Cut class?”
“Well yeah,” he answered as though it was the most obvious thing, “I know how bad your cramps can get and I think it’s better for you to rest than try and suffer through the rest of the day. Besides, these are doctor’s orders.”
“Oh? And just what doctor happened to make these orders?”
“Doctor Best Boyfriend Ever,” he cheesed, you giggled. You were madly in love with him, “now c’mon, let’s get out of here and let me take care of you.”
“Well, I have to listen to the doctor,” you nodded, leaning over on your tiptoes to press a kiss to his cheek. You grabbed onto him, gently holding it as you looked at him with the softest eyes, "thank you, Eddie."
"There's nothing to thank me for," he promised softly, "I would do anything for you."
"Can we stop and get some chocolate on the way home?" your voice almost dropped to a whisper as you looked at him with bright, shy eyes, "and maybe pizza?"
"Of course, princess," he swung your backpack over his shoulder, "now let's get outta here before we get caught!"
-─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
Less than hour later you were padding after Eddie into his trailer, arms empty as he struggled to balance everything. You’d offered to help but he wasn’t having it for a moment; you were going to relax and rest and he would take care of everything else. He’d decided that you were going to spend the day at his, opting not to take the chance and going to your house in case one of your parents came home early. As good as they were, they wouldn’t understand you needing to leave school early.
“Home sweet home,” he beamed, setting your backpack down and pizza on the counter…along with the bag of sweets you’d collected at the store. You’d fully intended on buying the things you wanted and the supplies you needed, but Eddie had beaten you to it and taken everything to the register and paid for it himself. As if he could get more amazing.
“I love it here,” you sighed softly as you walked over to the couch and almost collapsed on it, reaching for one of the soft and well-loved blankets, “it always feels like home here, ‘cause of you.”
“I love it when you’re here,” his heart constricted in his chest and he thought he might die from the sheer amount of affection and love he held for you, “how’re you feeling?”
“Okay,” the painkillers were slowly wearing off and you felt the onslaught of cramps starting to come back, “tired, getting crampy. Hey, my love, you’ll tell me if I’m being too annoying, right?”
“If that ever happened, you know I would,” you heard him shuffling around in the kitchen, “but that is impossible, so you never have to worry.”
You laughed at his silliness, and it was only a few seconds before he came over to you and kneeled at your side. Unable to stop yourself, you reached over and brushed his curls out of his face, “hi handsome.”
“Hi beautiful,” he held up the heating pad before reaching under the blanket and placing it on your tummy, “I know you like the heating pad for cramps, so I got one to keep here.”
“Oh Eddie,” before he could turn to plug it in, you tenderly grabbed his face and pressed a kiss to his lips, “you are so wonderful.”
“I’m just…trying to help,” his entire face turned pink at your praise as he made quick work of plugging it in. He handed you a bottle of water, a few more painkillers, and a candy bar, “and I hope this is helping.”
“It is,” you really couldn’t have asked for anything or anyone better, “Eddie? Can I ask you for one more favor?”
“Of course,” he touched your face so gently that it made you want to melt into him, “anything, princess.”
“Will you cuddle me?” your soft lips pulled into a pout, causing Eddie to chuckle. As if that was really a question - the man would cuddle you no matter what, “you don’t have to, if you don’t wanna. I feel all icky and gross, but -”
“You are perfect,” he insisted firmly, leaving you no choice but to accept what he was saying, “and you are not icky or gross or anything like that. I will gladly cuddle with you, sweetheart.”
“But if I get blood-”
“You won’t,” he stood up to kick his shoes off, and discard his jacket, “and even if you did, so what? It’s just blood, it’s all natural, what your body is going through is normal. It sucks and I wish I could make it so I was the one dealing with it, but it’s okay.”
“Okay,” you sat up and scooted over so he could lie down. He slowly did so, and pulled you on top of him, settling you between his legs so you could rest your head on his chest. He made sure the heating pad was right on top of you to help as much as it could, “you’re so warm, like my own personal heater. And you’re so comfy.”
“Ahhh,” he groaned playfully, pressing a kiss to the crown of your head, “I knew you only wanted me for my body.”
“I’m a woman of taste,” reaching for his hand, you threaded your fingers through his and rested them on your tummy, “what can I say? You’re the total package - handsome, smart, funny, and multi-talented? What more could I want?”
“Silly girl,” there was nothing but gentle affection and fond teasing behind his words, “what more could I want? Nothing, that’s what.”
“Hmm,” sleep was quickly making your eyes heavy and you felt yourself falling under the siren call of slumber, “me neither. ‘m gonna marry you someday, Eddie Munson. You’re not just boyfriend material, you’re husband material.”
“Funny,” and oh. How his heart was beating wildly in his chest, surely threatening to break through his ribcage, “I was just thinking the same thing about you. Gonna marry you, princess, but I’m gonna do it right.”
“Whatever you do will be perfect,” you murmured already half asleep, “because it’s you.”
“Oh honey, honey,” he sighed wistfully, “I love you, but I think right now you need to rest and later we watch a movie and eat lots of snacks, yeah?”
“Sounds perfect,” you agreed, “love you so much, my Eddie Spaghetti.”
Quick Update
Hello. It's me.
So yeah, I, have been going through a weird rut where I draw stuff but don't want to post it, and a lot of fandom-related things (especially for Murder Drones, my god this fandom) have made me hesitant to post the refs and drawings I have done. I also have no had the energy to make a lot of full pieces despite wanting to, and I've mostly been doing sketches alongside working on TAOME's revision as well as the first chapter of Act 6.
Luckily I do want to post more so I'll try to eventually, but for now, TAOME's revisions are coming along nicely. Dialogue has been refined and added, characterization and interactions are still being refined and fleshed out, and I've been picking at all the little typos and errors I've been finding. I do want to try and finish before I take a trip later this month, but if not, at the very latest I do want to finish before the next 4/13, which will mark the second anniversary of this fic being made public! It might probably be that since I want to make this fic as high-quality as possible, but that brings me to the other reason why I've mostly just been reblogging and posting the occasional babble or ask.
I haven't been having fun with my art and writing.
Everything I've been making feels like a pressure I put on myself to get better, and I do want to deal with that before I start being more active on social media. With the influx of AI, studio drama and just everything happening in the world, I have felt both unhappy and unable to really create much of anything without feeling this pit, and being friends with or at least looking up to so many amazing artists, I think that daunting feeling of a skill gap has finally really sunk in. I don't want my work to be just rewarding. I want it to be fun.
So yeah, I will try to post some refs for the characters I have managed to work on as well as some sketches, and as for the fic, well
Tumblr media
I'm really excited to work on Act 6. It's partially what I've been building up to for the past almost-two years, and it is a very big part of the plot. Like, one of the major plot sequences is this entire act. This does admittedly make me nervous, but then again, maybe it shouldn't. This is, at its core, an OC/Canon fic. I am supposed to be having fun with it. I'm allowed to hype it up. This is also the passion project that I have put my heart and soul into for most of my time in college. I don't want it to flop, and yet in a way, I feel like that want has sucked the fun out of making it.
I don't know what I'm going to be doing going forward, and the future isn't a given. The revisions will be posted with the start of Act 6 at some point, I can promise you that, and while I don't have any big pieces to post, I will definitely try to post more refs and the sketches I've done.
Btw I also have a Toyhouse that I've finally started utilizing so if you want to see some of the art and refs I've done, you can head over there too.
That's pretty much it. Remember to do your daily clicks, be healthy, support the oppressed and tell the oppressors to shove it up their asses, and have a good day :)
Continued from thread
"Nah, I don't watch that much anime." He said, feeling self conscious all of a sudden. She was so shocked he'd never heard of Esper Ito-Chan before. He could tell she was very passionate about the anime as she described the various material it came in now days. Perhaps, it was bigger in her own country, but if it took place in Tokyo, it was doubtful. He was probably just living under a rock. He frowned at her next words, and gave her hand an awkward pat since it was easily accessible. "Who cares what's expected of you? Yeah, as a leader there are some sacrifices you make. But is it really that big of a deal if you watch anime on the side? Being in a gang is all about freedom."
Everything he'd heard about her family so far just sounded like the opposite of Toman. It sounded stuffy, micro managed, and like being in a cage, all in one. He'd made Toman to protect his friends' freedom and happiness, and yet they'd branched into one of the greatest gangs all the same. No need for cutting out all his enjoyment for life because of it. Though, he supposed he was too busy to watch anime most of the time now days. He had enjoyed it as a kid. His gang was worth giving it up though. Mikey stashed the helmet back into the compartment at the rear of his bike. A brow raised as he joined her, and they were waved through by the guards. Sonia really seemed to think that he was going to be bothered by whatever was behind those doors. He would show her, whatever it was, that it was no big deal to the Invincible Mikey. He wondered what it was, and his heart picked up speed in anticipation as she cracked open the doors. What would it be? Drugs, theft, perhaps torture? There was nothing noteworthy inside though. A bit confused, he followed the princess down the stairs. What was so bad about this place, he vaguely wondered, as he followed her to another set of stairs. There were no torture instruments or pools of blood. No shelf full of drugs. Only boobs… Wait boobs? Sonia had opened the next door, full of women in different stages of undress.
"O-oh this is what you meant." He felt his face flush, and he tried to look anywhere but inside the room. Shit, he did not want to go in there. He was the Toman leader though. Surely he could handle seeing some boobs. Mikey wasn't great with women in the first place though. His gang was full of nothing but men, and he'd always been too busy to date. The small bar felt hot, or maybe it was just him, as he walked in with the princess, uncharacteristically meek. He tried to avoid making eye contact with any of the women, which only made things worse. Instead his gaze would fall on their chests or lower still. Luckily, it seemed like they were all at least wearing panties. He thought he might die otherwise.
Manjiro was only half paying attention to their hurried conversation, and was only too pleased to find that Trixie was in a room off on her own. He practically ran out into the hallway after the princess in an attempt to get away. As they approached the hostess's room though, he wondered if it might be even worse. The gaudy homemade sign she had on her door was not a great start. At least she was dressed. That was something. The blonde took in the girl as she blathered on in English. She was pretty, but in an all too fake way. The way she was laughing without a care in the world when Satori was dead. His head hurt all of a sudden, and he felt that familiar pull of darkness that lived just beneath the surface. That's when Trixie addressed him, and he finally understood a part of the conversation. Babyface… so she knew that he was under age.
The darkness broke free. Gone was the carefree boy from moments before, that had blushed his way through a room full of women. His face was devoid of any emotion, aside from pure malice, as he stepped into the room. He didn't remember that he'd given Sonia the right to discipline Trixie, nor his proclamation that he wouldn't hit a woman. He sauntered up to the girl and grabbed her by collar of her shirt, lifting her easily off the ground despite his smaller frame.
Tumblr media
He heard choking sounds, but didn't seem to be concerned in the slightest. "You knew he was underage… You bitch. Why would you give a middle schooler a gun? Satori is dead because of you… So you should be dead too." His tone was as if he were talking to an insect and not a human being.
Reuniting, Better Late Than Never
Chapter 4
Woo! Adhd finally gave me some motivation to write again! Sorry for the delay and for a shorter chapter, but I have big plans for the upcoming chapter. So I hope you enjoy, and thank you for still following this story!
Links: Whole work on AO3, Chapter 1 on tumblr, Chapter 2 on tumblr, Chapter 3 on tumblr
Words: 1,692
Rating: PG (ask to tag)
Emmet had gone about his day the same as he always did now. He woke up, fed his and Ingo's pokemon, made himself coffee and some breakfast, then got dressed for work. Once he was ready, he selected six pokemon to take with him for battles, making sure to change it up each day so every member of their teams got a chance to battle at some point. He then left some toys and treats around the apartment to entertain the others before leaving for the station.
Once at work, he went about his day as usual. In the morning, his job typically meant he was monitoring the movement of the trains and making sure they ran on schedule, taking care of any paperwork and making new schedules for all the employees, and occasionally dealing with rude or annoying passengers when they demanded to speak with someone higher up. He always hated that part of the job. Luckily, it was a rare occasion.
After lunch break, it was time to head to the Battle Subway. Since Ingo's disappearance, he alternated between the singles and doubles lines, with the multi lines being on an indefinite hiatus. Today he was scheduled for the singles line.
As he left his office to go to the Battle Subway platform, he heard a familiar voice.
"Emmet! Emmet, hold on!"
Emmet turned to see Clay, marching towards him and waving frantically.
"I am Emmet. I am due to head to the Battle Subway. Is everything alright?"
"Postpone the Battle Subway, son. I've got somethin' more important for ya," Clay said as he adjusted his hat and took out his cell phone.
"More important?" Emmet asked. He then realized what Clay might be talking about. His breathing hitched and his eyes widened.
"Yer a smart kid. You know what I'm talking about already, dont'cha?"
"Clay. Please do not lie. This is about Ingo, isn't it?" Emmet's voice was shaky as he spoke.
"It is. He's over in Sinnoh with my granddad. You wanna talk to him?" Clay held up his phone.
Emmet nodded, but then remembered the Battle Subway. He held up a finger to signal to Clay to hold on, then lifted up his radio to connect with his coworkers.
"I am Emmet. I will be unable to board the Battle Subway. Family emergency. Please inform the challengers. Thank you." With that, he motioned for Clay to follow him.
"To my office. More private."
Together, they walked to Emmet's office. Emmet closes and locks the door, then sits at his desk after pulling out a chair for Clay.
"Are ya ready?" Clay asked as he pulled up his grandfather's contact number on his phone.
Emmet nodded. This would be the first time he'd get to talk to his brother in five years. Because of who Clay's grandfather was, Emmet had known where and when Ingo was located since shortly after he initially went missing. So it was only a matter of time until he returned. And now it was finally happening.
Clay dialed the number and listened as the phone rang. From where he sat, Emmet could just hear Clay's side of the conversation.
"...Hey Granddad...... Yup, I got him here......... Yeah, I'll hand him the phone."
With that, Clay held out the phone to Emmet. Shakily, Emmet took it.
"......Hello?" Emmet's voice was quieter than he meant for it to be, but luckily, the person on the other side was able to hear him regardless.
"Emmet? Emmet, is that you?" Ingo. That was definitely Ingo. Same loud voice, laced with so many emotions. Excitement, joy, nervousness, and slight worry.
"Ingo! Ingo, it's really you! I am Emmet, and I am so verrrrrry happy to hear your voice!" Emmet could feel tears prickling the corners of his eyes. His brother was really back!
"Emmet! Emmet, I-I can't believe it's really you! I've missed you so much!" On the other end, Emmet could hear the faint sounds of moving and footsteps, so he guessed that Ingo was moving now as they talked.
"I have missed you too! Clay told me where you were, and that you were in the past, but I still missed you! Wait. Do you still have amnesia?" Emmet asked.
"I... I do," Ingo admitted. "I am slowly remembering some things, but I know there are still many tracks that are missing and disconnected. But I remembered you! Even while still in Hisui, I could remember a man who looked like me! I remembered that you were someone important to me! I just couldn't remember exactly who you were, but I still knew that I missed you!"
Emmet placed his free hand - the one not holding the phone - on his thigh and squeezed to ground himself. He could not let his emotions overtake him. He couldn't risk losing his ability to speak, even temporarily, since he couldn't use sign language over phone like this. And he knew that whenever he got overstimulated or overly emotional, speaking became harder for him. But squeezing his leg helped. It was something to focus on other than the emotions flooding his brain. He took a deep breath and focused on what he wanted to say next.
".....Emmet?" Ingo's voice sounded a bit worried. Was he taking too long?
"Here. One minute," was all he could get out. Luckily, that was enough for Ingo.
"Take your time, Emmet. I'm not hanging up. Just breathe."
Emmet nodded, even though he knew Ingo wouldn't be able to see it. He focused on his breathing and running the words through his head. He kept squeezing his leg and he started tapping his other foot to add something else to ground himself. Eventually, he felt ready to speak again.
"I am Emmet. I will help you regain your memories. I promise. And I cannot wait to see you. I love you, Ingo. I am so verrrrrry glad you are back!"
"I'm glad to be back! And of course, I love you too, Emmet!" Ingo said, and Emmet could practically hear the smile on his brother's face. There was also a sniffle on the other end, meaning that Ingo was getting emotional over all of this too.
"Look, I really want to talk with you more, but I don't know if a phone conversation is the best way to do it. Clay said he can bring you over here to Sinnoh. Can we talk more then?"
Emmet was so glad that his brother understood what was happening. Even with amnesia, his brother seemed to remember his issues with speaking when he got overly emotional or stimulated. And Emmet wondered if Ingo was also doing this for his own sake. Growing up, Ingo had always been able to tolerate more compared to his brother, and it took him longer to fall into nonverbal spells. But it still happened, and Emmet wondered if Ingo was starting to reach his limit. They were both semi-verbal after all. At least they could sign to each other when they'd finally get to meet up.
"Yup. We can talk more then. I will get ready to leave. See you soon, Ingo."
"See you soon, Emmet."
The phone line went dead as the twins both hung up. Emmet handed the phone back to Clay.
"You doin' alright, son?" he asked.
Emmet nodded and wiped at his eyes. He then held up his hands to sign.
"I am okay. Just tired. But happy," he signed with a tired smile.
"I'll call Skyla and get her to start up the plane," Clay said. "I should also call up Drayden, Iris, and Elesa. Let 'em know about Ingo. In the meantime, why don't you go home? Maybe pack some stuff and relax a bit. I'll let ya know when we're planning to leave."
Emmet nodded and signed "thank you" before getting himself to stand. He'd have to let someone know he'd be leaving for the day.
He and Clay went their separate ways, then Emmet found a depot agent and informed them he would be leaving for the day. Luckily, they didn't ask for details, and Emmet was free to leave. Soon, he'd be home, packing and waiting to go see Ingo. Finally, they'd be a two car train again.
~
Ingo had stepped outside during his phone call with Emmet. It just felt weird to have such a conversation in front of others like that. So now, he stood outside Lian's house, holding Lian's phone as he wiped away his tears. He couldn't believe it. He'd soon get to see his brother again, after just barely remembering him for five years.
He took another moment to compose himself, then he walked back inside. He handed Lian his phone back.
"Thank you, Lian," he said, his voice still slightly shaky and quiet.
"You're welcome, Ingo. But are you doin' alright?" Lian asked as he pocketed his phone.
"Yeah, I'm alright," Ingo said with a nod. He took a seat on the couch again. "I am glad I got to speak with Emmet, and he will be coming to Sinnoh soon. I suppose I'm just a bit emotionally drained."
"Understandable," Sabi said.
"Yeah, that's kinda how I felt when I saw Mom again," Dawn added. "And honestly, it's how I've been feeling these past few days getting to see Rei and Lian and Sabi again too."
"Heh, in that case, why don't we relax a bit with some TV?" Lian suggested.
Ingo nodded, happy for a fun, mindless activity.
"Maybe we can put on a movie?" Johanna suggested.
"Oh yeah, are there any movies we missed out on?" Dawn asked.
"Let's see what I got," Lian said as his Geodude floated over, carrying the remote to him.
Ingo didn't care what they put on. He was just glad for a chance to relax and not have to think. He leaned back into the couch as Lian switched through channels and Dawn, Johanna, and Sabi all discussed movie options. Lian's little Archen flew over to his lap once more, and Ingo absentmindedly ran his fingers through its fur, helping to ground him after such an emotional day.
Whumpcember Day 4 - Hidden Injury
Everything was going according to plan.
The masked figure was holding Adam at gunpoint, shouting at him and preventing him from going into the burning building. He and his friends thought he was alone, but he had someone tagging along with him.
Ever since he discovered Jonah's power, the two men had been using it to their advantage. The first few times, Adam had underestimated just how fast Jonah could go. He still remembered the time where he had gotten a call about an attempted robbery. By the time he and the police arrived, they were all tied up in a storage unit and Jonah was sitting on top of the boxes, giving them Pokemon details.
He looked to the other people that were watching. They were all being held at gunpoint. A woman was crying, screaming for her child that was left inside. C'mon, Jo. Hurry up.
A gust of wind blew past him followed by streaks of lightning. Before he could blink, a familiar white haired person ran out carrying a crying baby.
"Oh, my baby!! Thank you!" The woman cried, holding her child tightly.
The man turned to Adam. "So this is your plan, huh? You get your little friend to help you? I thought you were tougher than that." He cocked the gun. "No matter. This'll all be over so-"
He didn't get to finish his sentence as Jonah immediately clocked him in the face. The group were all on the ground now, tied up before anyone can even breathe.
"Good morning, Mandela County! It's a beautiful day out today with sunny skies and temperatures of 70 degrees. Today's report is about the apartment fire from last night. Officials say that a group of masked figures set fire to an apartment complex with multiple other tenants inside. Luckily, the angels appeared once again to apprehend the criminals and rescue the victims. We will be holding a press conference later today to commemorate their heroic deeds."
Adam exited the 7/11, grocery bags in hand. That press conference wore him out. He wasn't sure if he can keep up with the press for today. He just wanted to go home and relax.
Jonah, of course, was yapping his ear off about how they finally joined the ranks of Mark and Cesar, that they can become like the heroes from the comic books.
'What a week, huh?' Metetron spoke. 'First, a car gets flipped over, now a building catches fire.'
"Yeah. It's almost like these things are being done on purpose." He sighed. "I dunno. Maybe I'm just overthinking things."
As he passed by an alleyway, he almost didn't see the glint of metal that shined in the moonlight. A hand covered his mouth and they pulled him back, making him drop the bags.
He was slammed against the wall, knocking the wind out of him. "Dude, the fuck?! I was just getting food!"
He was greeted by a knife resting against his throat. "You should know what's going on here. You think you're hot shit because you and the twink are on TV?"
"Oh, come on. You should know arson's a big no-no here. Not like anyone does anything with it in this town.."
"Shut up!" The blade inched closer. "Because of you, our friends are rotting in a cell. We were just trying to send a message out to you."
"What message? That burning down buildings is cool?"
He growled. "You really shouldn't trust anyone in this town. And you know what happens when you kiss up to the mayor." He made a little cut along his skin. A little droplet of blood trickled down. He took his time to scan the area. There were at least five guys therewith him, each carrying some kind of weapon. Baseball bat, crowbar, brass knuckles... Yep, they aren't messing around. But Adam's tough. He can deal with them easily.
"Yep, I don't have time for this." Adam swiftly upper-cutted the man, causing him to drop the knife. The other men tried to charge him, but Adam (with Metatron's help) was swift. He swung the second man's legs out from under him, causing him to fall, crowbar clattering. Adam grabbed the third man by the wrist, pulled him close and elbowed him in the face, hitting him in the nose.
The fourth man managed to get Adam's cheek with the brass knuckles, but he recovered quickly. He landed the punch on his eye, making him stumble back. He wiped the blood from his lip and smirked. "That all you got?"
He was blindsided by the first man, having gotten up from the ground and tackling him. He pushed him off, but the other men grabbed him by the arms and pinned him down. One of them smirked and pointed his baseball bat at him. "Not so tough now, huh?"
Adam growled at him which caused him to laugh. He lifted the bat high above his head. He closed his eyes, bracing for his doom.
A whoosh of wind. Electricity.
He opened his eyes.
The men were now on the ground, groaning in agony. Jonah towered over them.
"Jonah?" He tried to get up, but pain shot through him.
"Here. Let me help you up." He offered his hand.
Adam took it and tried to get up, but he hissed. Damn, that guy must've really punched me good.
"Dude, you okay?!"
"Yeah, I'm fine. I just need a minute to-" He stumbled, clutching at his side. Crap, he must've broke something.
Jonah's eyes widened. "Shit, hold on." He lifted him up, Adam's head resting on his shoulder.
"Thanks."
"No problem."
They left the alleyway, leaving the group of men behind. The MCPD will deal with them.
As they continued walking, Adam's walking started to become sluggish. He was about to ask him if he was alright when the blonde slumped over, toppling both of them to the ground. "Wh- Adam?!"
"Sorry, sorry... I uh..." His speech was becoming slurred. Jonah noticed something staining his shirt. Is that...?
"Let me see."
"Wh-"
"Let me see!" His tone was clipped. It was the kind of tone that let him know that he was serious. He sighed and laid down.
Jonah lifted his jacket... and immediately recoiled.
There was a large stab wound on the side of his torso. Blood was starting to seep through his shirt. Holy... That look bad.
It all became a blur. Jonah picked him up in his arms and the next thing he knew, he was at the hideout. Jonah was scrambling for the first aid kit, cursing under his breath. Adam's vision was starting to swim.
Something pressed against his side, making him flinch. "Hold on, Adam. You'll be okay. They'll be here soon."
They? Matthew and Luke. They know about these things. Poor Jonah. He looks so scared.
He tried to keep his eyes open, but it was becoming difficult to.
"Adam, stay with me!" Jonah cried, but his voice seemed far away. He was feeling a bit tired. He should close his eyes for a bit. He needed some rest after all. He let his eyes slip close, letting everything gradually fade away.
stockings
Tumblr media
Charlie comes up from the mailroom with a big package in his hands. It’s the annual stash of Christmas decorations from his mother. She’s been sending them every year since Charlie moved out of the house (even in ‘89, when he moved just a few blocks away). He sighs. That’s Maggie for you. Dramatic to a fault. Or maybe that is the fault. Charlie doesn’t know. He’s just spent the last twenty-three years dealing with it.
Somehow, he manages to unlock the door to his East Village apartment and tumbles through the door, almost dropping the box in the doorway. Luckily, Carrie (despite being shorter than any other woman Charlie has ever known) rushes to the rescue and saves the box between her arms. She grins.
“Maggie Christmas?” Carrie asks.
“Do me a favor and don’t call her that to her face, OK?” Charlie says as he walks over to the fridge and takes out a can of Diet Coke – what Carrie’s made him switch to since they welcomed their daughter, Cordelia, last summer. “She’ll love it. I think she’ll make the switch legal and everything. Imagine how upset my dad would be.”
“Actually, I think your dad would be into it. He doesn’t seem like the kind of guy who needs his wife to have the same last name as he does.”
“Yeah. That reminds me – why’d you change yours, again?”
“To stick it to my dad. He’s the kind of guy who would care.”
“Hmm.”
Charlie walks out from behind the counter and kisses Carrie on the top of her head. He can feel her smiling. She rips into the box, so much stronger and tougher than Charlie often remembers to give her credit. A few seconds later, she pulls out two scarlet stockings with white fluffy trimming. A few seconds after that, she bursts out laughing.
“Charlie!” she says. “Oh, Charlie … come look at these!”
“Stockings?” Charlie asks. “What’s the matter with stockings? I told my mom we forgot to buy them when we moved last year. She’s probably just making up for it.”
“Yeah, but in a really, really weird way. Look.”
Carrie thrusts the stockings in front of Charlie’s face. He gets a good look at them. At first, they just look like normal Christmas stockings. Maybe a little too red, but normal, especially for Maggie Doyle, who believed there was no such thing as too much red in anybody’s life. But then, Charlie sees it. In the middle of the white fluffy trimming, embroidered in red Times New Roman, are the words.
One says Mom.
And the other says Dad.
And they are hideous.
Charlie has to hide his own laugh in the palm of his hand, almost like he thinks his mother could hear him all the way from here, in New York.
“Oh,” he says. “Oh, holy shit. These are horrible.”
“Yeah, no kidding,” Carrie says. “What was your mother thinking? I mean, at the very least, I was pretty sure Maggie had taste.”
“Maybe she’s getting emotional? You know … since she won’t get to see Cordelia until a few days before Christmas? Like she wants to remind us she misses her granddaughter.”
“Couldn’t she just say that, then?”
“Obviously, you don’t know Maggie as well as you think you do.”
Carrie sighs. She holds the stockings up, and Charlie can tell that she’s trying to picture them on the back of the couch – exactly where the stockings go when you don’t have a fireplace. The look on her face says it all. The stockings don’t work. The stockings will never work.
Charlie comes around and hugs her around the waist, his favorite way to hug her since he got tall in the tenth grade. She eases into his embrace, like always.
“At least she never has to know we’re going to throw them away,” Charlie says.
Carrie laughs.
“Yeah, she will,” she says.
“OK, you’re right. She totally will.”
They laugh together, and then, Cordelia wakes up from her nap. Charlie offers to investigate, but Carrie goes down the hallway instead. Charlie smiles as he watches her walk away. It’s funny, he thinks. She might not want a Mom stocking, but damn, if she hasn’t earned it.
Henry remembered how mice hated the smell of peppermint as it would cause irritation and burning in their highly sensitive nostrils. Luckily it appeared that the smell of peppermint was weak enough since Dr. Two Brains didn’t seem to have any type of reaction to the tea. Two Brains gave a nod towards Henry’s question. “Yep. Everything else is going well for her.” He replied. Henry gave a nod. “That’s good to hear.” Soon things became silent for a few moments as neither were sure how to move the conversation forward. “So…did anyone give you trouble when they heard about our date?” Dr. Two Brains asked in a hesitant tone. He looked a bit nervous and had a slight expression of guilt on his face. “Oh, no no no.” Henry quickly replied, reassuring the mad scientist. “Ah mainly just had to deal with a lot of curious questions and some light hearted teasing. That was all.” Two Brains let out a sigh of relief. “I’m glad no one gave you trouble. Becky was a bit peeved with me for blurting it out at the Evil Villains Association. It wasn’t my fault that some of the villain kids decided to be big blabbermouths.” The mad scientist griped. Henry gave the man a sympathetic smile. “I did talk with Becky about what happened. She was mostly worried about how people would treat you and I. She said that you were a good person despite your villain status. I reassured her that things would be fine. Your daughter really cares about you as much as you care about her.” Henry remarked. Dr. Two Brains looked surprised at what Henry told him and smiled a little bit. “Yeah, Becky is a good and caring kid.” His expression then became slightly sullen. “I just wish she didn’t have to worry about me a lot. I’m the parent here. It’s my job to worry about her.” Henry frowned and looked away from the mad scientist’s gaze. Dr. Two Brains noticed and let out a heavy sigh. “She told you about the accident, didn’t she?” He asked in a matter of fact tone. Henry gave a hesitant nod. “Becky didn’t tell me every detail and she said for me to ask you directly if I wanted to know more.” Henry explained. He hoped he didn’t get Becky in trouble with her father. Two Brains gave a simple nod in understanding. He wasn’t upset with his daughter as it wasn’t really a secret about what happened to him. There were just some details that really weren’t meant to be discussed casually in any conversation. He was glad Becky allowed him the chance to do the explaining. “The truth is…I was once like you. A human.” Dr. Two Brains began to explain. “My old name was Steven Boxleitner. I was a scientist and a professor at the main university in town though I still teach there sometimes due to tenure and community service. I worked at Fair City labs along with other scientists. I also used to help the police and the local heroes with my analysis on villains and how to stop them.” Two Brains let out a small chuckle. “I even wrote a book about my expertise. ‘Superheroes and You: A Practical Guide’ I used that book to help mentor and train Wordgirl on how to be a superhero.” Henry could see Dr. Two Brains’ eyes light up with pride at the mention of the Wordgirl. His face then became sullen once again. “One day I was working on a mind reading device. It would allow me to peer into the mind of mice and rats so that I could understand what they were thinking. I don’t fully recall why I created the device, but I think I was trying to help establish beneficial relationships between people and animals. My test subject was a vicious lab mouse named Squeaky. I was going to look into Squeaky’s mind and try to understand what made him so vicious. Well idiot me was also making a pastrami sandwich around this time. Just as I was about to test my machine, I smelled that my pastrami sandwich was done and my stomach began to growl with hunger. Like a stupid person, I left Squeaky alone and went to take a bite of my sandwich. Just as I came back, Squeaky had pressed a dangerous button that wasn’t ready yet."
@unhingedexperimenter
(You can tag me on my tgs side blog. I also apologize but I know a few Scottish words. So to anyone reading this I apologize for the inaccuracy.) Becky Boxleitner noticed a change in the atmosphere as she and her pet monkey Bob walked into the sixth grade classroom. All of the students were excitedly chatting with one another. Becky and Bob exchanged confused looks at the scene. 'What is going on?' They both thought. Becky walked to where her friends Violet Heaslip, Rose Franklin, and Todd Scoops Ming were sitting, also joining in the excited yet low volume chattering. "Hey guys what's going on?" Becky asked her friends. They each turned their heads to greet their friend. "Hey Becky guess what, we're getting a new teacher for our class!" Scoops exclaimed. Becky looked surprised at the announcement. Bob also mimicked her facial expression. "Wait really? What happened to Miss Davis?" Becky asked, wondering what happened to their old teacher. It was just a week only into the new school year so a sudden teacher exchange was a complete shock to Becky especially since there were no announcements about it beforehand. "Miss Davis had to move back home because of a family emergency." Rose Franklin answered. "The principal had to scramble to find a new teacher to fill in for our class. It was all last minute stuff." Becky nodded in understanding of her friends' answers. It was a nice perk to be friends who were upcoming reporters. Soon the final bell rang which indicated for every student to take their seats. Becky took her place beside her best friend Violet and Bob plopped down next to her. Soon a man who looked to be in his mid 30s walked in and towards the desk. He had curly brown air, an arched nose, and reddish brown eyes. He wore a tan button-down shirt with a red vest as well as brown slacks and dark suede shoes. The man gave a pleasant and warm smile to all the students there. "Hello my name is Dr. Henry Jekyll and I will be your teacher for the school year." Becky and the other kids ears perked up as they took note of the man's accent. Even Tobey became slightly interested in his new teacher. None of them were sure where their new teacher was from. Dr. Jekyll gave a light chuckle as if he could sense their growing curiosity about him. He lightly clapped his hands together to gain their undivided attention and focus. "Well since this is my first time teaching here, why don't we all play a little game so we can all get better acquainted with each other. Here's what to do. One at a time, say your name and share a wee bit about yourself. Likes, family, interests and all that. I'll go first to show ya what ah mean. Again. My name is Dr. Henry Jekyll. I was born in Glasgow but ah moved to London where I attended university. I have a five year old wee lassie or daughter named Amber. I enjoy chemistry and reading on occasions. Now who would like to go next?" @unhingedexperimenter
Of course Tobey had taken the opportunity to place attention on himself and to have a reason to boast about himself. “My name is Tobey McCallister the third and I will be the most intelligent student you'll meet here.” The others had rolled their eyes, used to this kind of behavior from their peers. Becky seemed to be the most annoyed by it. Having been forced to put up with his destructive tantrums in the past. Henry smiled just as warmly as before. Unbothered by the obnoxious behavior that the boy had been displaying. Tobey had been going on about himself for a good few minutes before the teacher finally spoke up. “Ahem, yes. Thank you for that Mr. McCallister. Would anyone else like to tell me a bit about themselves as well?” No one could tell that behind the facade, Dr. Henry Jekyll was becoming more irritated by the moment. Not by the child but by the pest that refused to leave him be. Scoffing within his head at what they just heard. He didn't share the disembodied voice's opinion but wanted to give the other children a chance to introduce themselves as well. To the others' shock, Tobey seemed to have taken this well. Quickly going back to his desk with no issues. Becky was relieved at that. Soon the other children had started to introduce themselves to their new teacher with little to no issues. He seemed genuinely nice enough to her. This new teacher didn't seem like most of the adults within this city. Some she had to define words repeatedly for. Dr. Jekyll knew what he was teaching and knew his vocabulary. It was Violet who had brought Becky out from her own thoughts, calling her name. Waving a hand in front of her face. “Becky?” The girl smiled in an embarrassed manner. “Huh? Yes?” Violet smiled, patient with her best friend. “Why don't you introduce yourself now? Nearly everybody else already did.” She had given a surprised expression. Becky hadn't realized that she was so lost within her thoughts until then. She stood up and began speaking. “My name is Becky Boxleitner and I also like libraries,reading and Pretty Princess.” The presence that was grating at the teacher's nerves had deemed this too dull to enjoy. Leaving Dr. Jekyll be to his teaching. Well, getting to know his students. He was happy to see that they were engaged in these activities that were meant to break the ice. Though one student in particular had caught his attention the most. Becky. While she did seem rather bright, there was something strange about her behavior at times. Pausing whatever she was doing at the time to listen in on something. Thinking it went unnoticed. Even once looking alarmed and she made an excuse to go to the bathroom. He had allowed it. Feeling that it would've been better to have let her. It seemed…oddly familiar. As if he had seen that behavior somewhere before but couldn't figure out exactly where from. When the school day was finally over, Becky had gone to go home like the others. Dr. Jekyll had of course stayed behind to set more things up within his new classroom. Making a plan on exactly what he'll actually start teaching the next day. Though, the grating voice had returned to be a thorn in his side. “Come on. Leave this boring stuff alone. Leave it until tomorrow. I've been pent up for far too long. Let's have some fun.” This had earned an eye roll and a loud huff from the teacher. “No, I've got to get this done now. You will have enough time tonight. Just be patient until then.” A shadowy figure formed in front of Dr. Jekyll. A frown on its face. “But this is so extremely dull. I want to stretch my legs. I want to make myself known already.” Dr. Jekyll glared. “And that is precisely why I'm so hesitant to let you out so soon. At least let us get acclimated to our surroundings first.” The figure let out an annoyed groan. “You know you want this as much as I do. Otherwise you'd never have any actual fun in the sad and pathetic life you call yours.”
Can I Trust You?
Tumblr media
Pairing: Eddie Munson x GN!Reader (angst and fluff)
Brief Summary: Eddie wonders if he can still trust you after he discovers that everyone is looking for him
Author's Note: I’m back on my Stranger Things bullshit! I forgot how much I love the show and I’m diggin this new season so mild spoiler alert if you haven't watched S4 yet :)
Word Count: 2,012
Reading Time: 7 mins, 19 secs (approx.)
Requested: No, an original
Warnings: food, reader held at knifepoint, talks of murder, spoiler alert for Stranger Things S4 vol 1, graphic description of death
—------------------------------------------
You and Eddie had been dating for about a year & everything was going great. You were Hawkins High School’s social floater so everyone knew who you were, not enough to be considered popular but a face everyone was familiar with. That meant that the entire school knew you were dating Eddie “the freak” Munson. He got the “freak” nickname back in 7th grade after a rumor spread about how he tried to eat a bat like Ozzie Ozborne did (although Eddie never did) but the rumor stuck & he just ran with it after many failed attempts to clear his name. If people get to know him like you do, they’d know he’d never hurt a fly. You got backlash & looks from being with him but being together was the best decision both of you made in your life & he always did everything in his power to make you feel like you were the only person in the world.
You remember the first time that you heard about Eddie being a suspect in Chrissy’s murder. It wasn’t through the radio or TV but when the entire senior class was staring you down Tuesday morning after the big basketball championships. Jason, the school’s star basketball player & Chrissy’s boyfriend, cornered you while you were walking to class & pressed about Eddie’s whereabouts. You knew nothing about where Eddie was or what he did but when Jason shoved the newspaper in your face, you saw the headline “Local Hawkins High Student Murdered, Drug-Dealing Classmate as Suspect”. You knew he’d never kill anyone, especially over drugs; like yeah, you know he’s a dealer but he’d rather lose product than take someone's life when it came down to it. Finding Eddie was going to be a challenge because he would take you to the most obscure places in and around Hawkins for dates. You’d lived there your whole life and never knew of the spots he took you to.
He wouldn’t hide in the most obvious places the cops would look for him at like his uncle's house or makeout rock but you were worried about him. With the whole town looking for him, his chances of survival were slim in this tiny town. Luckily, you remembered that he plays Dungeons & Dragons with some of the underclassmen & that your little brother was friends with one of them, Dustin Henderson. Fortunately, your little brother has Dustin’s radio frequency remembered & contacted him for you. Come to find out, Dustin was looking for you, Eddie was worried sick about you & asked him to make sure you’re okay. He gave you the address to Eddie’s hideout & you were on your way. As you were making your way to him, you stopped & grabbed groceries. He probably hasn’t eaten or if he has, he’s probably munching on junk food to survive. You picked up fruit, water, healthy snacks and a few bags of chips so he could stock up.
Finally arriving at the address, it led you to a little shack by the lake. It looked abandoned & you were about to radio Dustin to ensure he was correct until you heard a noise come from within. Hoping that the noise was Eddie, you walked to the shack. It wasn’t your smartest idea to go by yourself to an abandoned shack by the lake at night but it was worth the danger if it meant laying eyes on (a hopefully alive) Eddie. You were going to knock but the door was already cracked open a hair so, you decided to carefully creep in. You had a flashlight in your bag & quickly turned it on. There were a few kayaks on the wall along with a few ores sprawled on the ground but no Eddie. You carefully lifted the tarp that covered one of the smaller motorboats that was already in the water. To your disappointment, still no Eddie. As you went to reach for your brother's radio, you felt something sharp on your back.
“Put the radio down” a voice said
You sucked in a sharp breath
“Now!” the voice yelled
You threw it down & put your hands up, surrendering
“Why are you here?” it asked
“I’m just looking for someone” you said as you slowly turned around
“DON’T TURN AROUND!” the voice yelled
You quickly turned back to your original position. The object that was on your back was now on your neck.
“I’m going to give you three seconds to leave before I have to hurt you. I don’t want to but you need to leave”
“Wait, please! Let me explain” you plead
There was a silence
“Y/N?” the voice said hesitantly
“Eddie?” you asked
The knife was slowly pulled away from your neck and you were spun around. He cupped your face in his hands and you dropped the bag of groceries to do the same. He just stared at you, taking in all of your features as his heart swelled with joy. You were pulled in for a bear hug & heard his sigh of relief followed by a whimper. He looked horrible, like he was sleep deprived & physically dirty due to his wrinkled shirt & jeans having holes in it, his hair was beginning to mat as well as his muddy shoes. It broke your heart.
“I’m so sorry for that. I didn’t know it was you until I heard your voice. I’m so glad to see you, babe” he lightly sniffled
You just let him hold you for as long as he needed. It had been days since you saw him last & he needed your touch, hell, you needed his.
“It’s okay. I’m just glad you’re not dead” you replied
After a while, he pulled away & found something for you to sit on.
“Here, sit. Tell me everything. Please” he said
“Well, first of all, I brought you groceries. I don’t know if you’ve been eating but I got some healthy snacks & whatnot for you so you don’t starve.”
He rummaged through the plastic bag & gasped.
“Doritos!”
“Yeah” you chuckled
“I know you like the nacho ones so I thought to get ‘em” you continued
He opened the bag & dug in, eating them like it was his last meal
“So I have good news and bad news” you said
He stopped chewing and looked at you with his brown eyes
“What’cha want to hear first?” you continued
“Bad”
You let out a quick breath
“The bad news is, everyone in Hawkins is looking for you. Jason wants your head on a spike, he convinced the entire town that the Hellfire Club is a satanic cult & Chrissy was a sacrifice. The cops put a curfew but no ones abiding by it. Everyone either wants you & your friends dead or in jail.”
His face sank and his skin went pale.
“I didn’t kill her! I promise!” he wept
 He slowly backed away from you
“You don’t think I killed her…do you?” looking at you with glossy eyes & hurt in his voice
“Absolutely not. That’s not like you at all, Ed”
He slumped over and cried
“I don’t know what to do, Y/N. Everyone wants me dead, I haven't slept in 2 days, I can’t leave Hawkins without getting caught,  I put Dustin in danger, I put YOU in danger. No one believes me about what happened to Chrissy…”
“I believe you & I don’t even know your side of the story. I just know the headlines” you interrupt
You pulled him into a hug & rubbed his back
“Tell me what happened”
He collected himself & wiped his eyes.
“After the basketball game, Chrissy asked about buying drugs off me, so I drove her to my uncle’s place. I went to my room to grab the stash while she was in the living room & the lights started flickering but I thought one of the fuses were bummy. I walked back in there to show her the stash & her eyes - they were rolled back and - she just stood there. I called her name a bunch of times and she wasn’t responding but the lights kept flickering more and more and-”
He got quiet & had a blank stare
“And what?” you say
“- She started floating.”
“Floating?”
He nodded his head
“How though?”
“I don’t know like, she was in the air and her legs snapped and then her arms and then her jaw and her eyes were gouged out and there was nothing I could do to help her & I was scared and” he started hyperventilating
“Sweetheart, you need to breathe, okay? You’re going to pass out if you don’t slow down, alright?” you said calmly while rubbing his back
You matched his breathing to help him calm down & slow his breathing. It worked.
“There you go. Breathe, baby. Listen, you’re okay now. It’s over”
“You probably think I’m crazy” he said, defeated
“Not at all but you got me puzzled as hell on the whole floating thing” you said
“I know it sounds like I’m bullshitting you or like I was having a bad trip but I promise that I wasn’t on anything that night. I would never hurt anyone intentionally”
He sighed
“I feel like I’m stuck. I can’t get out of this”
“Yes you can and I’m going to help you” you said
“How? Aren’t they after you too?”
“Not really. The cops came over yesterday and asked me where you were but I told them that the last time I saw you was before the game. They’re not really interested in me though. They’re more focused on trying to stop Jason & the basketball team from finding you”
“I’m so sorry Y/N. I’m so sorry that you got pulled into this shit. It’s all my fault”
“Stop blaming yourself. You did nothing wrong. We just gotta convince Hawkins”
“How?”
“Well, that’s where my good news comes in. My family has a vacation home in Toronto. It’s about 7 hours from here. You’re gonna have to stay in the trunk until we’re well out of the county but once we get there, you can stay at the house for as long as it takes to clear your name”
“Really? You think that’ll work?”
“I don’t know but I do know that if you stay here, you won’t have long”
“How are we going to get to Canada though? Isn’t there a border checkpoint? Won’t we get caught?”
“No, you don’t need a passport to go to Canada. Just a reason. I’ll just say I’m visiting family”’
He took a beat
“Okay. I trust you completely.”
“Good. We leave tomorrow then, alright?”
“Tomorrow?! Wait, what about Dustin & the rest of the Hellfire Club? Aren’t they in danger too?”
“Yeah but Dustin already told me he’s got a plan. He’ll be okay.”
He pushed his hair out of his face & sighed
“If it makes you feel any better, once I get back from dropping you off in Canada, I’ll check on them, okay?” you said
He nodded his head.
“Now, you need to get some sleep. We have a long drive tomorrow and you said you haven't slept in two days”
“What if someone finds us while we’re sleeping?”
“I’ll stand guard while you sleep. M’kay, sweetheart?” you said cupping his face
“Are you sure?”
“Mhm. Now go to sleep. You need it.”
He hugged you, squeezing you tightly.
“I love you so much Y/N”
“I love you too”
He walked to the canoe that he made his makeshift bed and layed in it. Within 20 minutes he was knocked out cold. This was probably the most peace he’d felt since Chrissy’s death. You weren’t 100 percent sure that your plan would work but you were willing to try. Smuggling a suspect across state lines, let alone the border could land you in prison but if it meant saving the man that you’d die for, it was worth it.
"I heard you were in an accident last night, babe. Are you okay? I'm so sorry I got mad at you yesterday." Seokjin comes towards you, cupping your face to look at every inch, every detail. You move away from his hold, backing up to give yourself some space.
"Seokjin, I told you to stop calling me that. Jesus. I'm fine. Don't need you to check up on me."
"Are you really gonna keep that up? I said I was sorry."
"Okay, and? I heard you."
"Really, that's it? Y/N, why are you being like this? What's the real reason?" He follows after you as you make your way to the library. To say Seokjin was persistent is an understatement— he was persistent for the wrong reasons. Like, keeping you close so he had you to fall on when things went wrong with another chick, his safety net.
"Because this is done, I don't know how many times I have to tell you. I'm tired of you doing this so, please. Just go." You slightly turn towards him as you climb up the stairs.
"I wanna work this out with you. Don't push me away. Let me help." You don't respond. He watches as you adjust your bag strap and wave at Jungkook. Seokjin chuckles and grabs your wrist gently, making Jungkook suddenly hop on defense as he balls his fists. Like he could do shit. Seokjin would probably wreck his ass with those broad shoulders.
Still. He hated how much of an asshole he was to you.
"Wait, what the fuck?" Seokjin laughs his rare, deep laugh that he uses when he's caught off guard. "You're hanging out with nerds, now?"
"And if I was, that would be none of your business." You snatch your arm away while glaring at him. You shake your head and continue walking towards Jungkook, relieved Seokjin finally left you alone today. Probably off to tell Namjoon, Yoongi and his friends how much of a bitch you've been and that you actually left him to hang out with a nerd.
Sunmi knows you're being tutored. However if that wasn't the case, she would question you, but she never take their side on shit. She remained loyal to you, and always supported you through whatever. That's why she's remained your bestfriend until this day. The senior chicks Seokjin and them hung around with though? Questionable. As long as Sunmi was by your side and you by hers, you both didn't care much for getting close to them.
"Hey, sorry you had to see that." You say as you sigh and set your bag down alongside of you on the long table.
"It's alright." Jungkook replies softly. "Are you okay?"
"Yes. Thanks." You give him a tiny, tightlipped smile. "So, should we get right into tutoring, or should we talk about the details of our deal? I have all afternoon." Luckily, it was quite loud in the loud section of the library. No one cared much to listen in to your secret deal with Jungkook, nor did anyone care because it was Jungkook.
"I do too. I guess, whatever works for you?"
"Let's get this tutoring over with first then iron out the rest." He nods.
"Sure." He pulls out his notebook. "Tell me, what are you struggling with?"
"Everything." He does a small head tilt.
"I doubt that. I'm sure you understand some things."
"No, you don't understand Jungkook. I'm legit drowning. I don't know what I'm doing wrong or where I'm lacking." Jungkook simply looks at you, lips pressed together before he nods. You're not lacking anywhere, he thinks. You're really not. The subject is just shitty and the spawn of the devil.
"That's okay. Well, can I go over some basics? Throw in some tips?"
"Yes, please. Lead the way. I need you." You chuckled, but it makes the heat rush to his cheeks. He hopes you don't catch the rosy tint creeping up on them, so he instantly grabs at the whiteboard near your table and starts to go over the very beginning, the very basics of this semester's OChem class. Maybe a bit from last semester, but last semester wasn't entirely that bad compared to this one.
He didn't expect you to be all that engaged for some reason, but he should have known you'd ask questions left and right, taking the black whiteboard marker from his hand to practice what you've learned with him watching and guiding you from your side. You were always focused, always so determined. You were incredibly smart. Incredibly beautiful.
Honestly, Jungkook go on for days.
The both of you hadn't realized it was nearing close to 5PM and neither of you had really eaten much since lunch. You sit, feeling pretty good about your first session with Jungkook. You feel a little bad having kept him for so long over OChem, realizing you still had things to iron out with him.
[sunmi] 4:34pm: hey babe, not gonna be leaving for a bit. i forgot i had to work on this psych project with jennie. you okay with leaving around 6/7?
"Crap."
"What's the matter?" Jungkook glances at you as you continue to stare at your phone and scroll away.
"Sunmi isn't leaving until later. I'll probably be stuck here for a little longer after you leave." You put your phone down, now resting your chin against your palm, nails slightly digging into your cheek.
"I-I can give you a ride, if you'd like? Plus, we still need to talk.. about stuff." He shyly says.
"Jungkook, that's too much to ask for."
"It's really not a big deal. How far do you live from campus?"
"Maybe a 10 minute drive, the next exit off the freeway." He shrugs.
"I'm going in that direction too."
"Are you sure?"
"Positive. We can just talk on the way home."
"Would you be willing to stop by for dinner? We can talk then. Maybe it can be considered our 'first date.'" You joke with a small giggle.
"Oh, sure. Yeah." He gives off a tiny, nervous laugh. "Where did you have in mind?"
"Can we get.. hm—" You hum. "Fire Wings? Down the street?" He almost feels intoxicated watching how your eyes gleam under the light, how they brighten and widen when you mention food. You were cute, and you didn't even know it.
"Only if you tell me what flavors you get." He tries to get smart, which makes you laugh. He made you laugh.
"Is this judgment day? Gonna see if you should call quits on our deal before it even starts?"
"Maybe." He goes along with it.
"Okay. Garlic Parmesan and Dragon." You pack up your things before shooting him a look.
"Okay, solid flavors." He nods. "I guess we can continue on."
"You're funny." You giggle as you both throw your bags onto your backs. You stay in your position until Jungkook comes to your side so you can walk by him. You don't know much about him, but he has a soft demeanor and he makes you feel comfortable. You had only seen him a couple of times across campus, not really noticing him much in class either. You feel a little bad knowing you didn't even try being that he sat behind you, but better late than never I guess? Maybe there was a reason for all of this happening. The way he tutored you today was insane, too— he was super smart, but broke it down perfectly, was patient. He was patient.
No wonder Dr. K loved his ass.
"What about you?" You picked up the conversation.
"I usually go for a dry rub and Garlic Parmesan."
"I haven't tried any dry rubs."
"You can try one of mine later."
"Okay." You suddenly remember to shoot Sunmi a text before she comes looking for you everywhere on campus. Jungkook stays silent beside you, allowing you to do your thing without being too overbearing or nosy.
But, he honestly can't help but glance a few times.
[y/n] 5:11pm: sorry just saw this, hitching a ride with my tutor. don't worry about me! ty ily, have fun working on your project.
[sunmi] 5:13pm: tutor, as in jeon jungkook?
[y/n] 5:15pm: yeah, he offered.
[sunmi] 5:16pm: okay, that was nice of him. if he tries anything tho i'll beat his ass. text me when u get home?
[y/n] 5:17pm: don't worry about him, he won't lol i will.
[sunmi] 5:18pm: kk love u b
"Sorry." You say, tucking your phone into your pocket. "Had to text Sunmi."
"That's okay. You two are really close, right?"
"Yeah, since high school."
"Cool." At this point, Jimin, Taehyung and Hoseok are coming out of the café at the same you two are passing.
"What about you, where are your friends?"
"Um." He sighs, trying to avoid his friends obnoxiously waving and calling him from the distance. You glance over from behind his figure, chuckling a little bit. "That's them."
"Cute. You all are really close, too?"
"Ya, I've known Jimin the longest though." You smile and wave at them, causing them to gasp and whisper amongst each other with huge smiles on their faces.
"I'll need to meet them if we're gonna do this thing for real. Do they know?"
"Yeah kinda."
"That's okay. We should probably work on keeping it between us though." He nods.
"Okay, but. Can we save meeting them for later? They're a bit.. much." You smile.
"Sure."
"D-do I have to meet Sunmi?" You nod.
"If you wanna make this believable, yeah."
"She's kinda scary."
"Jungkook, she's not gonna bite your head off. She just has that look, but I promise she's sweet." That look, that resting bitch face. Really, you could be biased because it's Sunmi. She really only had issues if she felt disrespected. Other than that, she meant well. Same with you— you've been accused of being intimidating and having the same look but you don't mean any harm by it.
"Okay." Jungkook unlocks his black 2016 Honda Civic and pops his bag in the trunk. You do the same, while Jungkook goes to open the passenger door for you.
"Thanks." You smile sweetly at him. He climbs into his seat, hitting the button to start the car and sighs. The music in the background starts to play, and it sounds mellow, soothing— like it came straight out of a fairytale. His eyes widen as he rushes to lower the volume before shyly looking at you.
"Sorry."
"What, no. Don't be. What is this?"
"A Final Fantasy lofi mix." He begins to drive off as you turn the volume back up.
"It's nice. Pretty relaxing."
"Ya, it's nice to listen to after a long day." He pushes his glasses up at the light.
"Do you have family here?" He nods.
"I do. My mom and dad live about an hour away. I'm the only child. What about you?"
"Same. They're probably 30 minutes up north."
"Do you live alone?"
"Yeah, I live in a studio. It's actually my coworker's. She bought the space to rent it out. She lets me rent it for pretty cheap though."
"That's nice."
"You?"
"I live with Jimin. Our parents are close."
"What about your other friends?"
"Hoseok is dorming, and Taehyung would rather live back home with his family and commute. He's close to them. He'll crash at ours or Hoseok's from time to time."
"Are you close to your family?" He nods as he turns into the plaza lot.
"I suppose, yes. I'm just really quiet overall, so they think it's hard to read me sometimes." He parks and you watch as he shuts the car off with the same button. "You?"
"Yeah, I'm really close to my mom. Dad, a little questionable."
"Why, if I may ask?" He comes to open your door again, causing you to give him a small smile.
"He, um. Just got into some stuff." He watches as your body tenses while you fiddle with your fingers waiting in line.
"It's okay, don't think about it. I won't ask again."
"It's okay, Jungkook. Really. Maybe another time?" You look up at him and he nods. He stands way taller than you, almost at Seokjin's height, if not the same. He likes to wear baggy, dark clothing and doesn't do much to fix or style his hair.
He's simple, but in a good way.
You both order your food with Jungkook going first so he can grab a table afterwards. Before he could pay though, you offer to cover him for dinner as your way of thanking him for driving you home. You make your way over to the table he snags, Jungkook silently sitting at the high table with his legs pressed together and his hands clasped tightly on his lap.
"You okay?"
"Ya, why?"
"You look tense."
"Sorry. It's not everyday I have dinner with Y/N." You smile.
"Stop, relax." You watch as he slightly eases up. "So, this deal." He nods. "A month?"
"Yeah, I suppose."
"We have to convince people it's real or else people will know something weird is going on." You look at his hand, now resting on the table. "You're gonna have to hold my hand and kiss me, you know?" He swallows the lump in his throat. Shit, he thinks. Don't know if I can actually pull this off?
A kiss?! Fuck.
"Y-yeah."
"When was your last relationship, Jungkook?"
"8th grade." Your eyes widen.
"O-oh, now I see."
"What's that supposed to mean? It's terrible, I know but I—"
"No, no, no. You're good. It's totally okay, it doesn't matter. I'll just have to teach you to make it look realistic and not.. awkward." You perk up again. "Not saying that you are though, okay."
"I know."
"So, are you.."
"Am I..?" He cocks hid head to the side in confusion.
"Like.."
"Just ask Y/N."
"Are you a virgin?"
"I don't know." You furrow your brows.
"Huh?"
"Look, this is gonna sound really embarrassing and I don't know if I'm even ready to tell my fake girlfriend about it."
"Just say it. We have to know things about each other." He sighs.
"I— ugh." He groans. "I did it with my girlfriend at the time. Or I guess my ex because we had broken up and this was sometime during freshmen year in high school and she came onto me out of nowhere at a mutual friend's pool party. But it was weird because we were just hormonal kids and I was just curious so I slipped myself into her only to slip back out right after because—" He's rambling, but you're doing your best to keep up.
"Because?"
"I-I, ugh. Y/N." He shuts his eyes and pinches the bridge of his nose. "Are you really gonna make me say it?"
"Jungkook." You lean a bit to try and catch eye contact.
"I came right away." He says just as the worker puts down your food and takes the number from your table.
"Ohhhhhhh." You say as you nod slowly. "Okay."
"You can just run now." His head hangs low as he slowly slides his chicken over in front of him, causing you to chuckle.
"I'm not going anywhere. It's okay. Stop that."
"It's pathetic."
"No. Besides, I know you'll get better overall, and you'll find someone who will rock with you till the end. We'll work on this."
"Thanks." He says, feeling comfortable around you. You were quick to reassure him and smile at him, he felt himself melting in his seat. Yeah, you were too good for Seokjin.
"You'll have to come to parties with me. Club events. Events in general. It won't look right if I'm always going without you."
"Okay. Can I bring my friends?"
"Sure." He nods. "What do you do in your free time?"
"Play video games and listen to music. Read comics, manga. Build lego sets with the guys."
"Cute." You smile.
"You?"
"Hang out with Sunmi, or just watch movies on my own at my place. Read. Eat by myself. Explore by myself. I value my alone time."
"It's nice." Jungkook's familiar with it. Even if he had his friends around, he truly liked being in his own peace when allowed. "What about outside of the public eye?"
"Hm?" You hum.
"Do we hang out?"
"Yeah we can." You nod.
"Cool." He smiles.
"Is my car gonna be a lot of work for you?"
"Don't worry about it, it'll be good soon. Just might take a bit cause I need some parts to make it look brand new again."
"I really can't thank you enough." He shrugs.
"Only trying to help my girlfriend out." He boldly says, causing you to laugh.
"Confidence is peeking through already, are you sure you need me?" You joke. The rest of the evening, you continue to talk to Jungkook about pretty surface level shit— what you like, dislike, overall experience in high school and college so far. It was a nice, harmless conversation, one where you were starting to see how warmhearted Jungkook really was. How real and laid back.
None of the shit in Seokjin's group. It was refreshing, a breath of fresh air.
Once dinner had finally finished, Jungkook was on his way to drop you off. He had parked in an empty guest spot, offering to walk you up just to be sure. At the door, he took a peek at how clean your studio was, mainly soft colors of white and cream taking over, with plants scattered around your living room area. The hallway in was sandwiched between your kitchen area and another wall, Jungkook assuming your bed was on the opposite side of it. He awkwardly stands at the door, afraid of overstepping.
"Well, goodnight Y/N. I'll see you tomorrow."
"Hey, wait." You smile and come close to him. He swallows, his mouth suddenly feeling dry when he feels your breasts press against his chest. "First lesson— give me a kiss."
"Right now?"
"Jeon Jungkook, we're doing this tomorrow. People are gonna have to see this at least once while we're together." He nods and presses a quick kiss against your cheek. "Not bad, but a little longer?" He complies and presses another kiss, leaving his pillowy lips against your cheek for a little longer before pulling away. "Perfect. Now here." You point at your lips before crossing your arms.
"Y/N, I—"
"Don't be afraid, just do it. I won't kick you in the balls or anything."
"It's not that. I just don't think I'm a great at this stuff."
"Okay." You tippytoe and gently grab his jaw while you lean towards his face. "Just relax, okay? Don't think too much of it." He stays silent, doe eyes constantly on you as you continue to inch forward.
Sparks. Just sparks everywhere for Jungkook.
He feels your soft lips against his and he relaxes, moreso because he feels like he's lost all senses being this close to you. Taking in your scent. Kissing you.
"There." He stands still, still trying to process the kiss. "Not bad. We'll get better over time, but at least that looks believable. Just—" You put his hands down as they were about to fall onto your hips during the kiss, but they fell short. "Let it happen and hold me, okay?" You smile. "Night Jungkook."
"N-night." He stutters as he watches you close the door. "Fuck." He whispers to himself when he realizes he's now sporting a boner. "Jungkook, what the fuck is this?!" He continues to whisper to himself as he waddles down your hallway.
Jealousy, Jealousy - Kaz Brekker
Request: yes! ‘Can I request Kaz/reader where one of them is jealous, maybe an argument occurs but with a happy ending. If you’re okay with that. If not I understand. I love your fics though! You’re an incredible writer’ Pairing:  Kaz Brekker x reader Summary:  You got a member of the Dime Lions talking, and got some valuable information. But Kaz isn’t happy with the method you used to get the information Warnings: mild angst, mentions of alcohol, jealous kaz  Word count:  1.9K A/N: me using an olivia rodrigo song as a title? yea. enjoy reading! :)
On one of her nightly journeys through the city, Inej had found out the Dime Lions were planning on stealing an expensive necklace. It so turned out that Kaz also had his eyes on said necklace. And he didn’t like the thought of it slipping through his fingers.
He figured out which member knew the most about the job, and needed to get him talking. Kaz only knew the week in which the necklace would arrive, not the exact date, or how heavily it would be guarded.
Kaz had sent Inej to figure it out, but even she came back empty handed. Luckily, you knew the club the Dime Lion member liked to go to. It had gotten you to where you are now.
You, Jesper and Kaz are currently looking at him sitting at the bar in the club. You’d been looking at him for a while, keeping a sharp eye on him. It was already clear Kaz wouldn’t be the one to go up to him. Anyone would recognise that cane, or his limp if he decided to go in without it.
 Jesper wants to go inside and get the Dime Lion talking, but you’re quicker, placing a hand on his arm and pushing him back.
‘This is a job for a lady, Jesper.’ you say.
You reach up and pull the ribbon out of your hair, letting it fall down your back. You then take off you coat and hand it to Kaz. Lastly, you unbutton a few buttons of your shirt and run a hand through your hair.
Before either of them can argue, you’ve waved at them, told them ‘wish me luck!’, and are headed into the club.
You walk up to the bar and take place next to the Dime Lion, careful to keep one seat empty between the two of you. You signal for the barkeeper and order your favorite drink.
Just as you’re about to reach into your pocket to get some money, your target next to you hands the barkeeper some money.
‘On me.’ he says.
You flash him a warm smile. ‘Why, thank you!’ you say. Sometimes they made it almost too easy for you.
The Dime Lion smiles at you and lets his eyes wander over your face. You have to physically hold yourself back not to punch him in the jaw. But you’re on a job. All you have to do is get him talking. And if he’s so willing to buy you drinks, it shouldn’t be hard.
‘What’s a pretty girl like you doing out all by herself?’ he says.
‘Just going for a drink.’ you say.
‘Care for some company?’ he says, pulling the chair next to him back.
‘Don’t mind if I do.’ you say, and you slide off of your chair to sit down next to him. He smells like alcohol and you guess he’s had a lot of drinks already, celebrating his success too early.
He takes a sip of his drink and you notice the tattoo on his wrist. You plaster a shocked look upon your face and reach out to pull his arm toward you.
‘Are you part of one of those dangerous gangs?’ you say.
‘Dime Lions, yeah.’ he says, signalling to the barkeeper for another drink.
‘You must be very brave.’ you say, looking up and smiling at him again.
‘I don’t like to brag, but yes, I am.’ he says. ‘Can’t be in a gang if you’re afraid of a little action.’
You fake a look of admiration on your face as you lean your chin on your hand, looking at him. ‘That sound really impressive.’ you say.
‘It’s not without danger, but it pays good money.’ he says, taking a sip of his drink.
‘Really?’ you say.
‘We got an important job coming up. It should make us rich.’ he says.
‘Wow.’ you say. ‘Like, really rich?’
‘You could say that, yes.’ he says. ‘But I’m not supposed to talk to anyone about it.’
‘Oh.’ you say, letting your chin drop slightly. ‘I see.’
You move to get up, but he lays a hand on your arm to stop you. ‘Hey, don’t go.’ he says. ‘I suppose I could tell you a little bit about it, just not the details.’
You smile and sit back down. ‘Well, in that case. Let me order you another drink, and tell me a story.’ you say, signalling to the barkeeper.
‘So, a promising job?’ you say as the barkeeper sets another drink down in front of him.
‘Very. It’s an expensive necklace. Worth millions of kruge.’ he says. He reaches out and places his hand on your hip. He’s really testing your patience. You try not to show your annoyance.
You let your jaw drop slightly and lean in closer. ‘Millions?’ you whisper eagerly.
He nods. ‘That’s right. We’re winning big with this one. They’re shipping it all the way from Ravka, and it’s arriving on one of the docks on Wednesday night. That part of the docks belongs to the Dregs, but we have a plan on feeding them the wrong information. That necklace is as good as ours.’ he says.
‘You’re really smart.’ you say. ‘How come you’re not running your own gang?’
He laughs at your words and you giggle a bit.
‘It’s not as easy as it looks.’ he says. ‘It takes skill, and practice, and you have to deal with a whole lot of planning. Not my speciality. But I am climbing up the ranks within the Dime Lions, I have to give you that.’
‘Well if you’re climbing the ranks as fast as you’re ordering drinks, it shouldn’t be a problem.’ you laugh, putting your hand on his arm.
He laughs as well, then smiles at you. You finish your drink and get up.
‘Well, you have been lovely company.’ you say. ‘Do you come here often?’
‘I do.’ he says. ‘This is my favorite place.’
‘Then I might stumble in here a bit more. Maybe I’ll see a certain Dime Lion.’ you say with a wink. ‘Thanks for the drink.’
‘Thank you for the company.’ he says. ‘And I hope to see you again.’
‘I hope not.’ you mutter under your breath as you head out the bar, back to Kaz and Jesper.
When you reach them, they look like the exact opposites of each other. Jesper looks delighted and proud as you walk toward them.
Kaz, on the other hand, has his lips pressed together so tightly they almost disappear into a thin line. And he looks ready to hit someone in the head with his cane.
‘Alright.’ you say, ignoring the look on Kaz’ face. ‘The necklace arrives on Wednesday night, on our docks. They’re going to plant wrong information to throw us off, but it’s going to be Wednesday night, that’s for sure. I don’t know how many people they’re going to send though, but it should be an easy job.’
Jesper lets out a low whistle. ‘Way to go, Y/N.’ he says.
‘Like I said, a job for a lady. Tipsy men are willing to tell women everything if they think it’ll make them look impressive.’ you say, taking your coat from Kaz’ arm and putting it on.
‘I think you deserve another drink back at the Slat.’ says Jesper. ‘After you.’
You smile at him and start to walk back to the Slat. You spend almost half of the journey talking and laughing with Jesper, just messing around a bit. You notice Kaz hasn’t said a word, not even telling you good job for gathering the information.
You hang back and fall into step next to Kaz.
‘You okay?’ you ask him. Kaz gives a quick nod. You know he’s not much of a talker, but you expected a thank you for getting the job done.
You try to get him to talk, but his answers are short, if he even answers at all.
‘Come on, Kaz, we got what we came for, didn’t we? Why are you upset?’ you say, looking at him.
‘I'm not upset that we got the information.’ he says, finally giving you a proper answer. ‘I don’t like the way we got it, though.’ he adds to it.
His answer puts a mischievous smile on your face.
‘Aw, is Kaz Brekker, jealous?’ you say teasingly, but Kaz doesn’t tease you back. He merely keeps on walking, not answering you.
‘Kaz, come on, I just did my job.’ you say.
‘Was it your job to practically sit in his lap?’ snaps Kaz. ‘To lay your hand on his arm, to allow him to put his hand on your hip?’
‘I only let him get close so I could get the information out of him. You know I wouldn’t do something like that, I'm yours, Kaz.’ you say, frowning that he could take it so personally.
‘Well you sure as hell made it look convincing you are his.’ grumbles Kaz.
You hold a hand up and get in front of him to stop him. Jesper curiously looks your way but you motion for him to keep walking. He continues walking, but does look over his shoulder every once in a while. You wait for Jesper to be out of reach when you start talking again.
‘I did my job, Kaz. Nothing more than that. There’s absolutely no reason for you to be jealous.’ you say.
‘I’m not jealous.’ says Kaz.
You raise your eyebrows at him. ‘Really?’ you say. ‘Then what’s all this? Because it looks a lot like jealousy to me.’
‘Did you see the way he looked at you?’ says Kaz.
‘Yes I did, but it’s nothing. He was drunk. He’s probably not gonna remember anything of it in the morning.’ you say.
‘What if he does remember it?’ says Kaz, looking at you.
You plant your hands on your hips. ‘Then I'll show him I'm yours.’ you say. ‘And he’ll think twice before even looking my way next time he sees me.’
You look at Kaz, but he still looks restless. You sigh and step closer to him. You reach out and take his gloved hand in his.
‘Look, Kaz, I need you to know I was friendly to him for the sake of the job. I have been and always will be yours.’ you say.
Kaz looks from his hand in your to your face.
‘I’m yours.’ you say. ‘No need to be jealous.’
‘I wasn’t jealous.’ he mumbles, making you laugh.
‘Oh, my dear, you definitely were. You should have seen your face. You looked like all you wanted to do was whack that Dime Lion over the head with your cane.’ you say.
‘I did want to do that.’ he admits, making you laugh again.
‘No need to worry, Kaz.’ you say. ‘Though I would do it again for a job though, or maybe just for the sake of seeing you jealous.’
His head snaps up at your words. You bite your lip to hold your laughter.
‘You look really hot when you’re jealous.’ you say. You see him relaxing again, softly shaking his head at your words, but with a faint smile on his face.
‘You’re one of a kind, Y/N.’ he says as the two of you continue your way back to the Slat.
‘One of a kind, and all yours.’ you say.
Game Night
Pairing: Bucky Barnes x Female!Reader Word Count: 2.2k T/W: fluff A/N: Part 2 of Bingo — a few months later
I am SO SORRY this took me way longer to post than it should have!
Bucky Tag List: @anreeixcobra ❤︎ @tsnelf7 ❤︎ @fandom-princess-forevermore
Tumblr media
It was Friday night, which meant one thing: Game Night. Ever since Yori introduced you at Bingo, you made it a tradition in your relationship to play board games on Fridays. For the most part you kept it to fairly modern games, but tonight was going to be a surprise.
Tonight it was your place, 8 o’clock. Bucky showed up with a six pack of root-beer in glass bottles. You added a few to the fridge as he found his usual seat at your apartment table. He waited for you to round the small apartment’s bar and join him. Sliding the glass bottles across the table to Bucky, you smiled, biting in your bottom lip, as he slid your bottle back, now without its top.
Easily he popped the top off his own bottle with his left hand; it was as he was about to take a sip that he caught sight of your look, “what?” he furrowed his eyebrows, questionably.
“So. . . tonight,” you tried not to giggle.
“What?” Bucky asked again, this time finding himself following your smile despite his will not to.
“Tonight is going to be special,” you clasped your hands together, “because I found some stuff that’s as old as you.”
“Wow, thanks,” Bucky said sarcastically, taking a sip, shaking his head, blinking softly as he saw you rush to convince him it would be fun. Sighing deeply, he gave in, “alright, what is it?”
“I’ll be right back,” you twirled on your heel and left the room.
Returning to shaking his head and the glass bottle, he paused after settling the bottle on the table. It’d been a long time since anyone cared about anything actually as old as him. He’d been pretty good at keeping up with the times, a lot of things he knew just got an upgrade, but the thought of something from his actual childhood felt a little heartwarming.
“Okay,” you declared, reentering the room with a stack of vintage boxes in your arms that made Bucky lean back in his chair out of shock, “here we are.”
His jaw dropped a little at what you had brought out as you set the stack on the table. Watching you take a deep breath and exhale with a smirk, he shook his head, this time silently asking “how?” You set your hands atop the stack, rapping your fingers across the top box as you smiled again.
Smoothing your hands out across the box top, you cleared your throat, “no peeking,”  bringing Bucky’s attention entirely to you.
“Option number one,” you held up the rectangular shape with severely faded letters across it, “Scrabble, released 1938.” The box very gently met the table, “option number two,” you looked at him attempting not to giggle as you saw him cross his arms over his chest, genuinely listening to you intently, “Sorry! released 1934, Battleship, original pen and paper game,” you clarified, he lifted his eyebrows, impressed, “and last but not least, Monopoly, released 1935.”
“Wow, you uh- you really did your research,” he commented, looking over the stack of authentically vintage boxes.
“Of course,” you shrugged with a smile, “my boyfriend’s 106, if I want to bring back some childhood nostalgia, that requires some research. . . and late hour ebay bidding in our case.”
He nodded, a faint smile showing, before it faded with his next words, “I hope you didn’t do too much research on me,” he looked up, hand resting on Monopoly.
You calmly slid down into the seat across from him and stared with a kind smile still on your lips, reaching to touch his hand, you stroked your thumb against his knuckles, “I’m more of a first hand account, direct source, kind of girl when it comes to people,” the corner of his mouth tugged into a smile.
You knew, just not everything, and he wasn’t sure he was prepared to have another living soul know it all quite yet. Luckily, you were someone who seemed to actually understand that.
“Or,” you announced, lifting a pointer finger, as if requesting a pause whilst you went to a nearby drawer, returning with a much smaller box, “we can get really really old school, even for you” the box met the table top, “standard 52 card deck, English edition, circa 1516. . .obviously not original.”
Bucky chuckled, looking to you, tonguing his cheek, before picking up the cards, “I hate to tell you, but that’s just a little before my time,” he squinted at you, teasingly.
Biting your lip, your shoulders shifted with the giggle that came after his comment, “so, come on,” you sat back down, this time with your elbows on the table and hands laced, to support your resting chin on top of them, “what should I beat your butt in?”
“Oh,” Bucky, attempting to appear insulted, began raising his eyebrows, “you think?”
“Yeah,” you laughed your words while looking at his serious face, “I think, better yet, I know.”
“Well, I don’t know where you get your confidence from. You know you are talking to a local senior Bingo night champion,” he shrugged with a head tilt, as if that was supposed to be a big deal.
“Woooow,” you drew out, smiling uncontrollably.
“But,” he sighed, “okay,” he shook his head once, accepting your challenge, “let’s go, you’re on! Monopoly,” he brought the box towards himself as you set the others on the floor next to your chair.
You watched as he picked up the little metal pieces, examining each one individually. There was an expression you’d never seen before, he was remembering something positive from his past. A memory that sparked a smile that you helped bring about. He surveyed the board, with all its bright colours and familiar street names.
“It’s been-” he paused, looking upward, doing the math in his head, “it’s been 85 years since I played this game,” setting each piece he stopped at the boat, laughing to himself, “you know, Steve used to always be the battleship.”
A soft smile came across your lips, while you watched him remember exactly how to set it up. You picked the Scottie dog and he picked the vintage race car piece.
“Were you always the race car?” you ventured, wanting to know more about his childhood, you knew he didn’t talk about it often.
“Oh,” he glanced to the piece he had just naturally picked up without a thought, “yeah, well, I think,” he gave a quick, but somber smile, before clearing his throat, and actually looking up, “and my sister, whenever she’d actually manage to get mom and dad to let her stay up with us, she’d always be the thimble,” he leaned back in his chair, smiling, “whenever it was her turn to move she’d put it on her finger and hop it down the street names.” He leaned back to the table, “we never made her go to jail, even if she landed on it, Steve would make up some rule that let her skip it.”
“That’s really sweet of you guys,” you said, looking softly at his smile.
“Yeah,” he swallowed, “but don’t think you can skip jail,” he changed his tone, preferring not to dwell on the past even if it was positive.
“Don’t think I’ll be visiting,” you smirk confidently, “better watch out for the money man yourself.”
“Wow, who is this?” he dropped his jaw, “she’s so sarcastic, does Yori know this side of you? Do you sneak jellybeans under the table or something evil like that?”
Laughing, you took your root-beer, “just give me my $1,500 so the smack down can actually begin.”
Two hours later, after a long battle between Boardwalk, control over the railroads, and many, many visits to jail, you sat back, lips quirked, arms across your chest as your little Scottie sat in jail.
“And three thousand, six hundred, and five. . . I’m sorry, but that leaves you,” Bucky set his elbows on the table, wincing at you, “bankrupt.”
“Fine,” you huffed jokingly, giving your best pout,“you win.”
“Aww, c’mon,” Bucky reached out a hand to touch your forearm comfortingly, accompanied by a smile you couldn’t deny.
“You wanna go again?” You offered seriously, resting your hand on top of his tenderly, happy to see him so happy.
“It was really fun, but let’s play something else, this time you pick,” he offered.
Breaking into a smile, you gave a nod, and he asked what you had in mind. It took a moment, you wanted to make this good, and you wanted to see it be a little more of a struggle for him, if you were honest.
“You know, I know it’s later than your. . .original timeline, but there’s this fantastic game called Twister,” you smirked, perking an eyebrow to ask if he was up for it.
“Twister?” He repeated you, tilting his head like a confused puppy, “what’s Twister?”
“I’ll show you, but,” you glanced over to your small apartment living room, “we might need to arrange the furniture a little.”
“Don’t worry,” Bucky stood, “I can handle that.”
Smiling, you stand, “okay, just push it all to one side, I’ll get the game.”
Ten minutes later, shoeless, you both stood looking over the polka dotted sheet on the floor. Nodding happily to yourself, Bucky shook his head almost in fear.
“Make sense?” You asked, having just explained the very simple rules, you turned to face him.
“Oh, I’m sorry I asked,” he sighed, shouldering off his jacket and tossing it onto the couch along with his glove, “yeah, it makes sense,” he set his hands on his hips, pondering this new game intently.
“Okay, you first,” you held up the spinning arrow, and began.
One hand and foot at a time, sometimes struggling to reach the spinner, but you both made it work pretty well. Having kept to one side of the sheet, it came time to get a smidge more twisted.
Bucky managed to keep balanced and spin a green dot with his left arm, conveniently it placed him right over you. As he began to reach for green, he carefully calculated how best to approach the green dot in order to keep his balance. It was a pretty far reach and he’d need to balance himself whilst reaching over you.
“What’s the matter old man, can’t quite move like you used to?” you shamelessly giggled.
Raising his eyebrows at your tone, “ohhh, wow,” Bucky said sincerely, finally placing his left arm over you and to a green dot, now above you he tilted his head sassily, “respect your elders.”
His last sentence only made your giggle turn into a genuine laugh. You closed your eyes and threw your head back a little. Admittedly, Bucky thought it was funny too, but he didn’t laugh, he just took in your smile and the sound of your laugh, enjoying every single moment of it.
When you brought your head back up, you were about to respond sassily, but instead you found his lips meeting yours. With a small squeak of surprise, you relaxed into the kiss, glad that he was finally confident enough with you to take a chance now and then. He tasted like vanilla root beer, which mixed wonderfully with the scent of his cologne you were finally close enough to smell.
It was soft and slow at first, but slowly, with his right hand palming the arch of your back, you eased into his touch, lower back almost meeting the floor as you both sunk down a little. You completely forgot about the game, as you reached your arms around his neck gently. Keeping the kiss close, you felt him hesitate to deepen it, so you gave him a small sign of encouragement, by moving your hand to the side of his neck, naturally bringing him even closer.
You had no idea how long you’d been there, on that polka dot sheet, but it was such bliss that you didn’t even care. Smiling into the kiss, you felt him smile back.
Parting, he pressed his forehead to yours, “I win,” he whispered, lips in a smile.
“What?” was all you could ask, still mesmerised by the kiss.
Bucky motioned his head to his left arm which happened to have been keeping the two of you steady. . . all the while remaining on the green dot. You dropped your arms from around his neck, to the floor, elbows supporting you as you looked up at him, shaking your head.
“That does not count, Bucky,” you tried not to smile as he kept his arm as still as possible.
“What? But my hand’s still on green,” he dramatically gestured to it, making you bite your lip to repress a giggle, trying to match his seriousness.
Shoving his chest directly above you, he feigned an ‘ow!’ before you softly pull him closer again.
“If I kiss you are you gonna hit me again?”
You smirk, “I might if you don’t.”
Bucky smiled, lips almost touching yours, “alright, sorry,” he smiled, voice almost a whisper as his lips brushed against yours, “I’m still learning the rules to this game.”
Can I get Wilbur, Philza, Technoblade, and Awesamdude (separately) dealing with a giggly, happily drunk reader, who is very nice to everyone but immediately goes into “I love youuuu, let me stay with you foreverrrrrrrr” cuddly lovesick puppy mode and proceeds to latch onto them for the rest of the night.
I hope you enjoy this! ♥
In Game and Female Reader
Warnings: Implied underage drinking(?)
A/N: I wanted to do like ten different things with these that would have been tooo long and strayed too far off path and then when I did have something I hated it. So, long story short, I had trouble writing it. Sorry it took so long! I’ve also never watched Sam I’m only just getting to the livestreams he was in with Tommy, I hope his character is good.
        Wilbur
        It had been a celebration of the freedom of L’Manberg.
        Naturally, the men and their lady of the hour wanted to go all out and finally have fun after all the war and bloodshed. There were some things they wanted to forget as well, such as the betrayal of one of their own. For once, Wilbur didn’t join in with the drinking that had started, simply just wanting to rest till what felt like the end of time after everything.
        Luckily, he hadn’t as now as he chuckled at (Y/N) rambling on about how adorable sheep were as they sat on the ground.
        “I mean, we can make them different colors, and they just don’t give a fuck. And their little faces.” She put her hands close together. “I want a pet sheep Wilbur.”
        He laughed as he stood up. “I think it’s time we got you to bed love.”
        “What? No, the party is so much fun.” She motioned with a smile at the men away from them, doubled over in laughter.
        He took her hand, pulling her up carefully. “But I believe you’ve had too much to drink. Your face is red, so let’s get you home.”
        She was quiet before grabbing his hand again, smiling. “Ok.”
        “Good. Make sure you get some sleep tonight boys, we got work to do.”
        He got a few responses between their laughter, shaking his head before he led (Y/N) away through the cool night. Her house had resided outside the L’Manberg walls but Dream and his friends took care of that. So, instead, Wilbur led her to the van, deciding to let her stay there for the night.
        “Alright love. You’re going to stay here tonight?”
        “I like it when you say, love.” She giggled. “It makes me feel all fuzzy.”
        He blushed slightly as he chuckled. “I’m sure it’s just all the drinks you had. Now, you get comfortable and I’ll…”
        He let go of her hand, only to jump as she latched onto his arm.
        “No.” She whined. “Stay here.”
        “What are you doing (Y/N)?” He asked confused.
        “I don’t want you to go. I love you. And you’re so warm.” She huffed, putting her forehead against his arm as she held out a few of her words.
        Wilbur was red as he watched the woman beside him.
        “(Y/N), you shouldn’t say those things. Come on, let’s get your uniform off.” He told her gently as he took his arm back from her only for her to hug him around the middle instead, making him laugh in surprise. “(Y/N)!”
        “Don’t go.” She spoke muffled into his chest. “Stay forever.”
        He softened as he took her hat off, putting it down on a chest as he ran a hand through her hair. “I’m not going anywhere darling. I’m just trying to make you comfortable. So, can we please get your uniform off?”
        She pouted but let go, letting him help her take her jacket and accessories off. Plopping on the bed, she struggled but managed to get her shoes off as Wilbur laid down her uniform next to her hat.
        “Alright, you need to get some rest ok? I’m going to go sleep in the front.” He explained to her, going for the door but she took his sleeve.
        “Stay with me. You’re so warm and you give the best hugs and I love you.” She rambled.
        Wilbur went red again as he looked at the door. He didn’t want to just stay here with her while she was drunk, probably unable to remember any of this in the morning, but she was stubborn even drunk. There was a voice in the back of his head telling him she would most certainly just follow him. So, with a sigh, he sat on the bed next to her.
        “Alright, but you have to sleep.”
        She grinned as Wilbur leaned back against the headboard. Coming over, she hugged him as she put her head on her chest, half on him as she hummed.
        “Good night Mr. President.” She giggled as Wilbur put a hand on her back.
        “Good night darling.” He muttered, running his other hand through her hair.
        It took a few minutes but she fell asleep on him and he was red as he watched her. It did feel warm like this and felt so right and comfortable. Maybe in the morning, after he explained the situation that they were in, he’d finally tell her how he felt to celebrate their victory further. He wasn’t getting any sleep tonight.
          Philza
        Phil had been with (Y/N) for a long time, dating what felt like even longer. They had been on many travels together and seen the same amount of shit in their lifetime. Naturally, that called for a drink or two.
        In the end, it was always Phil that could his liquor better than his girlfriend and he would usually just have a good laugh at her antics. She was very giggly and thought almost everything was hilarious and this time was no different.
        “And, and he just fell. And I felt so bad for laughing but I did.” She giggled as she leaned on the table, Phil giving an amused chuckle.
        She went to take another drink, but Phil took it from her. “I think that’s all for you tonight sweetheart.”
        “You’re so good for me Phil.” She hummed, resting her arm on the table before putting her head in her hand. “Always making sure I’m ok.”
        “Well, you help take care of me too.” He reminded her as he got up, starting to clean.
        “Yeah, but you’re so much better at it. You’re so good at fighting and stuff. You also look good fighting.”
        He laughed at that as he came back over to her. “Do I now?”
        “Mhm. And-And your hair is so soft and your eyes are really pretty.”
        “Yeah, I think it’s time for you to go to bed. Come on.” He helped her up.
        As he did, she latched onto him and he knew what phase she was in her drunkenness, the clingy phase.
        “You’re going to come with me, right?” She pouted up at him as she nuzzled into him.
        “Of course.” He chuckled, putting a hand on top of her head.
        “Good, because I love you. Just don’t tell Techno, he thinks it's gross.”
        He put a hand over his mouth to muffle his laughter, nearly doubling over. “I won’t…God, I won’t. Holy shit.”
        “Phil, you’re supposed to say it back.” She whispered as he led her to their bedroom once he could breathe right.
        “I’m sorry sweetheart, I love you too.” He kissed her forehead, making the woman giggle in joy.
        “Philza Craft loves me.” She squealed as she hugged onto him tightly.
        “Yes, yes.” He nodded, chuckling quietly as he managed to unlatch her from him to get her into bed.
        He made sure she dressed comfortably before they started drinking, knowing that this is where it would lead. Before she could protest, he got in beside her and pulled her in, hugging her close as he let his wings unfurl and laid one on top of them. She grinned, nuzzling into his chest, acting as if they didn’t do this all the time.
        “You’re-You’re the best.” She muttered.
        “Thank you, now sleep, angel.”
        “You’re the only angel here. Good night.” She hummed.
        “Good night.”
        With that, the two were able to sleep easily into the night.
          Technoblade
        Just a couple glasses of wine, it will be fine, they said.
        Now Techno didn’t know how the hell to deal with his best friend.
        (Y/N) and a few of the others in Pogtopia had decided to have a few rounds of drinks, Techno deciding to opt-out of it as they made it into a party and he just wasn’t that into parties. Yet, now, here he stood as his best friend was giggling like an idiot at Wilbur’s stupid joke. He didn’t know how easy his friend got drunk but here was the proof.
        Techno was trying to think of a way to get her away from the group without her putting up a fight when Tommy came over to her.
        “Hey (Y/N), you know those diamonds you got the other day,” Tommy asked her, making Techno squint as he listened.
        “Oh yeah!” She nodded with a wide smile.
        “Want to know what would be cool? If I could have them.”
        There was no way…
        “Sure!”
        That’s it.
        “Tommy, are you really trying to scam your ally while she’s drunk?” Techno came over, arms crossed.
        Tommy paled as he quickly waved his hands. “No! No! Why would you think that! I’m just going…I hear Tubbo calling for me!”
        The younger boy scampered off as Techno looked at (Y/N), seeing her pout at him.
        “That was mean Techno.”
        “He was trying to steal from you (Y/N), you’ll understand in the morning.” Techno rolled his eyes.
        “Tommy wouldn’t do that. I’m going to apologize to him for you.” She huffed, but Techno grabbed her arm.
        “Nuh-uh.” He shook his head as he pulled her back in front of him. “You’re not going anywhere; you’re staying here with me so I can make sure you don’t do something you’ll regret in the morning.”
        Then the girl smiled, giggling again. “You always look out for me Techno.”
        He was sent through a loop by her sudden change in emotions but merely shook his head. “Because I have to. You’d be dead without me.”
        That wasn’t true. While his friend was one of the nicest people he met, you mess with her and she became a whole new person that could hold her own with ease.
        “E-Exactly.” She hummed, hugging onto his arm, making him stiffen. “You’re so great Techno.”
        “Yeah, I know.” He tried to brush the emotions he felt off as he decided to make use of her holding onto him to lead her away.
        “I hope you never leave Techno.”
        “I can’t ever leave you.” He muttered truthfully.
        “You’re really good at keeping secrets, right?” She asked as he brought her into her room in the cavern.
        “I’d say so, yeah.” He nodded.
        “I’m going to tell you a big secret. You can’t tell Technoblade.” She said and he opened his mouth to say he was in fact that same person but she spoke first. “I love Technoblade. He’s just so cool and nice and I love him.”
        Techno.exe has stopped working.
        Techno tried to remember where he was and what he was doing. It took a few tries but he finally got his mind working.
        “Heh?!” He looked at her in shock.
        “Shh, he can’t know Techno.” She giggled.
        “…I don’t what the hell I’m going to do with you.” He mumbled, taking off his mask to run a hand down his face.
        “You’re going to keep it a secret right?” She pouted at him.
        “Yeah, now you need to go to bed. Like, right now.” He decided, taking his arm from her and turning for the door only for two arms to wrap around him from behind.
        “No! You promised you wouldn’t leave.”
        “I’m not leaving you idiot; I’m going to my room and letting you sleep yours.”
        “Please don’t go Techno. I always sleep better when I know you’re close by.”
        He didn’t know what to do. What were you supposed to do when your best friend you liked told you while they were drunk that they liked you back thinking you weren’t the same person?! His mind was fried and he didn’t have any ideas of how to get her to relent, so instead, he did.
        Sighing, he took his arms off him so he could turn around. “Alright, come on. Get comfortable.”
        She grinned before going over to her bed. After only taking a jacket and her shoes off, she got comfortable and he gave a long sigh before sitting beside her. As soon as he did, she put her head in his lap, humming with that dorky smile.
        “Go to sleep. I’ll be here.” He promised as he ran a hand through her hair.
        “Thank you. Good night Techno.” She muttered.
       He didn’t say anything as she fell asleep. Yeah, he didn’t know what the hell he was going to deal with this in the morning, but he supposed he should just enjoy this moment.
        Awesamdude
        “Fuck!” (Y/N) shouted across the room where the Badlanders were spending the night.
        “Language!” Bad shouted at her.
        She giggled with Ant, Sam chuckling as he watched the two. It was just a simple party, nothing to celebrate just a moment between friends with a few drinks sent around. Sam had participated in some of the events but had stayed out of most of it, deciding instead to watch his friend as she had a generous number of drinks.
        “I’m sorry Bad! I didn’t mean it!” (Y/N) called to him.
        “You should do it again though.” Ant tried to convince her.
        “No, I don’t want to be mean to Bad.” She laughed, going to have another drink.
        “I think that’s enough for now.” Sam intervened, taking the drink carefully from her hand.
        “Aww.” She pouted. “Ok. Thank you, Sam.”
        He nodded as he put it down. “Good. You can still have fun, just nothing more to drink.”
        “Alright. I can do that Sam. Have some fun with us?”
        “Sure.” He agreed.
        He didn’t do much with the group, however, mostly just sticking by the young woman’s side, though he didn’t have much choice in the matter. He had already planned on keeping an eye on her as he did know how easily tricked, she was into doing what others wanted, such as shouting fuck across the room, as they had been friends for a while; but this time was different. Usually, it was a fight to get her to stay by his side but this time, she refuses to leave his side.
        The creeper-hybrid was genuinely surprised as she followed him where ever he went.
        “Normally you want to be with everyone else, what’s new today?” He raised an eyebrow.
        “I just want to stay with you forever!” She grinned as she took his hand. “That would be nice wouldn’t it?”
        He looked at her surprised as he nodded slowly. “Yeah, that would be. But, why do you want to?”
        “Because I love you silly.” She said as it was the simplest thing.
        “I uh…” His smile grew as he processed her words. “Really?”
        “Duh.”
        He didn’t mean it to go to his head as his friend was drunk but it did.
        “What about me do you, love?”
        “You’re super smart and you’re really good at fighting.” She started to list and he laughed.
        “Alright, alright. No need for all that. Maybe we should get you home. I think you had more drinks than I realized.” He scratched the back of his head.
        “Aw, ok.” She gave a pout before he led her away and to her home.
        He took out her hidden spare key she had told him about and unlocked the door as he went inside.
        “Ok, home safe and sound. You get some sleep alright? I’ll see you in…”
        “No.” She whined as she grabbed his arm. “You said it’d be nice to stay forever so please Sam. Stay.”
        “No, I think it’s smarter if I leave so you’re not confused in the morning.”
        “I don’t care. Please, Sam. Stay.” She pouted at him and he felt his heart race slightly before humming.
        “Yeah, ok. Just to make sure you’re alright.” He nodded. “I’ll stay in the living room.”
        “No, come with me. It’s cold and you’re warm.” She said, making him blush.
        “I uh…Hey, slow down.” Sam protested as she dragged him along by his hand. “(Y/N).”
        She pulled him into her room and sat on her bed, giving him a puppy dog eyed face. His heart melted as he tried to stay strong but sighed.
        “Ok, but if you kill me in the morning, I’m haunting your ass.”
        She grinned, throwing up her arms. “Yeah.”
        “Ok, ok, come on. Let’s get comfortable.”
        The two of them shed the unnecessary layers and laid in bed. (Y/N) cuddled into Sam’s side and he put his arm around her back, gently running a hand along her side. Before another word was breathed, (Y/N) was asleep and Sam chuckled lightly.
        “Good night, I hope you say the same thing tomorrow.” He muttered before sleeping himself for the night.
cheer up, buttercup!
order #001: large banana milk tea with pudding and grass jelly for Cha Eunwoo, requested by my lovely @daybreakx !
-> enemies to lovers! & college!Cha Eunwoo x (gn) reader
-> warnings: some angst and food mentions! also drinking/alcohol mentions and everyone is really mean to the reader >:0
-> where Eunwoo is the president of your department and you're the vice president. you work your hardest but always end up second to him.
[a/n]: i'm sorry for the CHAOS that this is and i feel like there is minimal (?) fluff but i hope you enjoYY THIS WAS FUN
Tumblr media
You and Eunwoo had major beef. There wasn't even an event that started it all, but Eunwoo treated you with such disrespect from the start. And of course, anyone who disrespected you was on your list of... well, the closest thing to a list of enemies.
The first time you met him was in freshman year at the orientation before classes began. There was a basketball game going on and Eunwoo was playing. You watched from the sidelines in the shade, cheering him on at first because he was playing on behalf of your department.
Then, the ball flew in your direction. Eunwoo had tried to get the ball back for his team, but ended up accidentally throwing it towards you.
Luckily, it fell somewhere to your left, but it gave you such a fright that you stood up and started panting.
A few of the people who were playing rushed over to make sure you were okay, but Eunwoo didn't even throw a look your way.
"You, from our department? Just throw the ball back!" was all he said to you.
It made your blood boil.
Eunwoo was known for being a little blunt anyway, but he definitely went out of his way to grind your gears.
"Where is the president?" the social convenor asked.
You sighed, checking the time and noticing that Eunwoo was fifteen minutes late.
"If I knew where he was... If only I knew," you mumbled.
"Why is Eunwoo even the president, anyway?" another member of the student council asked.
"Because he's hot and cool and everyone likes him!" a girl squealed. You couldn't even remember what her position in the student council was, but judging by her comment, you realized that she must be here just for Eunwoo.
"He's absolutely dumb, does nothing all day yet somehow gets A's! Of course, why wouldn't he be the president?" your tone was dripping with sarcasm and your anger was almost about to overflow.
Until that man walked into the meeting room, at last.
"I'm dumb and do nothing all day? Why, thank you. I'm here, now," Eunwoo declared, strolling towards his seat. He had his black leather jacket slung over a shoulder.
God, I hate my life, you thought to yourself.
"That's what [y/n], said, but I don't think that way!" the girl who squealed earlier spoke.
"Thanks, Stacy."
Eunwoo only flashed her a quick smile before he sat back in his seat.
"So, what are we doing?"
"What do you mean, 'what are we doing'? We have an open house tomorrow and tons of high school students will be checking on our department! You're the president, you were supposed to-"
Eunwoo hushes you by raising up his hand from where it was resting on his thigh.
"It's all good, I've got it sorted."
He slammed down a notebook onto the table.
"I've taken notes on how open houses have been previously organized and have put them all in this book. I highlighted the events that seemed like they had a lot of potential, so look through those and decide on something, alright? I'll be off," Eunwoo explained, standing up.
"Where are you going?" you almost spat out at Eunwoo. He walks in here, makes a fool out of you and then decides to leave?
"To go 'be dumb and do nothing all day'. Isn't that what you said I do?"
He glared at you slightly before leaving the room.
"[y/n], you made Nunu so angry! Nunu, don't be mad, come back!" Stacy screamed, chasing after him.
You sighed, running your fingers through your hair.
"This idiot really thought I wouldn't know about the past open houses..."
You slam down the notebook that you had also brought.
"Damn... so he really just provided us some useless info and left?" the social convenor asks, shaking their head.
"Yeah, pretty much," you say.
-
So how did you and Eunwoo end up as vice president and president, anyway? Well, these positions were given to the students with the highest grades. Eunwoo had the highest, so he was given the title of president. You were trailing close behind, and were given the title of vice president.
You always told yourself that you should have been the president, and rightfully so! Eunwoo never did anything but play games on his phone, anyway.
When the open house event finally rolled around, you and Eunwoo were supposed to give a speech in a lecture hall to get the day started. It was mostly to welcome the high school students and lift the spirits of everyone there, not too big of a deal!
But still, big enough of a deal that Eunwoo should have shown up.
He didn't. And you were anything but surprised.
Forced to deliver your speech and somehow improvise along the way to make up for Eunwoo's missing presence, you were shocked to find that the audience started clapping right as you finished. It felt as though your hard work had paid off, and you stepped back, smiling at everyone in the crowd.
Until Eunwoo walked up to the mic, flashing a smile of his own and greeting everyone.
Yep, they had all been clapping for him, not for you.
Eunwoo turned and looked at you, mouthing, "did you prepare my script?"
"You were supposed to do that! Do I look like your secretary?"
Eunwoo scowled at you and turned to everyone who was seated. He ended up repeating a bunch of the same things that you had said and received an enthusiastic applause. You sighed from behind the curtains, wondering why Eunwoo always got the credit for all your hard work. It was probably his looks, but still.
Throughout the day, you walked around campus and ensured that everything was running smoothly. Eunwoo was supposed to be doing the same, you hoped, and you asked him this when you ran into him outside of the campus student centre.
"Have you been walking around like you were supposed to?"
"I'll deal with my business on my own," he said, almost scoffing at you. He was standing there scrolling through his phone.
"This isn't 'your business'? We're literally supposed to be working together!"
"Stop nagging me, [y/n]. I don't like it when you do that," he grumbled.
"Yeah, well I don't like you!" you yelled, storming away from him. You felt... very embarrassed. What kind of comeback was that? It sounded like something a child would say... oh, well.
You saw your friend handing out some goodies at a table outside and approached them.
"How's it going, vice president?" they asked you, handing you a snack.
"Terrible," you groaned, opening it and eating some.
"Why, what's up?"
"Cha Eunwoo is being a pain in the butt, as always," you sighed.
"You might want to watch what you say," your friend mumbled, pointing behind you.
You turned around a little too late as the snack in your hands was whisked away by Cha Eunwoo himself.
"You're the only pain in the butt here, [y/n]," he said, eating your snacks.
"What are you doing here?! You should be on the other side of campus!" you yelled.
"And you shouldn't be here, either," Eunwoo said with a glare.
"Can y'all go argue somewhere else? You're scaring the highschoolers away," your friend complained, nodding in the direction of some highschoolers who were hesitant to approach the snack stand because you and Eunwoo were arguing.
"Go attend to your duties, [y/n]," Eunwoo huffed, walking away from you.
You angrily stomped the ground, walking away and feeling a little embarrassed because you could feel the high schoolers watching you.
-
"[y/n], why won't you learn from Eunwoo a bit? I understand that he's the president and you're only the vice, but you could have at least prepared what we needed you to prepare!" the director of your department told you, shaking her head at you.
You tried to contain yourself and looked down as you rolled your eyes. The only reason Eunwoo was more prepared than you were today was because he had stolen what you prepared and claimed it was his instead.
"I understand, I'm sorry."
"You're at risk of getting your position taken away, [y/n]! This is a warning."
After leaving the director's office, you were met wih a grinning Eunwoo who was sat on the couches in the lobby.
"What are you looking at?" you asked him.
"Thanks for these papers, [y/n]," he said, holding up your hard work.
"I didn't even give them to you. You took them from me, but okay," you said, leaving him there.
You walked to a coffee shop that was on the same floor to get something to refresh yourself. Since it was so early in the morning on a weekend, the building was fairly quiet and empty. It wasn't hard to overhear a conversation.
"Eunwoo, I think [y/n] has not been taking their vice president duties seriously these days. Do you think we should find someone else?"
The director's voice.
"Do the other members of student council agree?"
Eunwoo's voice.
"I haven't spoken to them-"
"Then [y/n] remains as vice. I haven't seen any sort of slacking or a lack of seriousness from them, and I don't think anyone else is fit for the role."
Did Eunwoo just... compliment and defend you?
You turned around with your drink in hand to find that it was indeed Eunwoo talking with your director. Then, you quickly scurried away to avoid being seen by them, feeling very confused.
-
"Cheers!" everyone shouted around the table, clinking their glasses together before downing their contents. After a successful open house, everyone had gathered at a bar to celebrate. You squirmed in your spot beside Eunwoo, feeling uncomfortable. He rolled his eyes at you and shifted even closer to you, leaving you with less room to sit than before.
"Is that better?" he asked, smirking at you.
You frowned, pressing your foot on top of his clearly new shoes.
"Is that better?" you asked him.
"Why are you guys so close? Are you about to kiss or something?" one of the student council members asked.
"No! Ew-"
"And what if we did?" Eunwoo asked, glaring at the member.
What the hell?
The member looked down at their drink, unsure of what to say. The atmosphere grew awkwardly quiet until someone asked if everyone wanted more drinks, to which there were murmurs of agreement.
"Hey, [y/n], I overheard the director talking with you in her office today. Did she really threaten to kick you out as vice president?" the student council member next to you asked.
You laughed awkwardly, already feeling uncomfortable.
"Yeah... I'm working hard, though! So I'm sure it won't happen."
"Are you sure? You weren't able to prepare what the director asked you to, and there's been countless times where Eunwoo has always had to do things for you..."
You were in such shock. Everyone in student council knew that Eunwoo just acted like he was on top of everything, meanwhile you were doing all the work. Even for his grades, he never studied but was at the top because of all the people who handed him study notes and past tests to get his attention. You worked so hard...
"... I get that you're the vice president, but shouldn't you be trying a little harder? Hey... [y/n]? Are you crying?"
You couldn't help it... it had all been building up until now. You didn't even realize you were crying, though, until this guy pointed it out to you. His hand on your shoulder felt like it was suffocating you...
"What the hell have you been on about, you idiot?" Eunwoo growled from your right. You turned to him and he was glaring at the boy who had been talking to you.
"I-"
"Don't even talk. There's nothing but garbage coming out of your mouth. Come on, [y/n], let's go," Eunwoo said, grabbing your hand and guiding you out of there.
You were extremely confused, but more than anything, you were just sad. So you didn't stop Eunwoo when he led you outside of the bar.
"Is everything okay? Take some deep breaths." Eunwoo was staring right into your eyes as he spoke to you, reaching out his thumb to gently wipe your tears away.
"What's... going on?"
"That idiot was saying some useless garbage so I brought you out here. I can leave if you want to be alone-"
"No! No, please don't go," you begged, holding on tightly to his sleeve. You couldn't help it, you completely broke down and found yourself sobbing into his chest. What was weirder was that Eunwoo had his arms wrapped around you and was rubbing your back...
After you calmed done, Eunwoo insisted that he walk you back to your dorm.
"Why are you being so nice to me?" you asked him, sniffling quietly.
He threw his hands in his pockets and stared at the ground.
"I don't like it when people are mean to you, [y/n]," he said quietly.
"But you're mean to me all the time!" you pointed out.
"You're the one who started being mean to me!" Eunwoo whined.
You stopped walking.
"I started being mean to you? Eunwoo, you know you're the one who threw a basketball at me that day and never apologized, right?"
Eunwoo stared at the dark sky for a moment as he tried to remember what you were talking about. Then his eyes widened and he looked at you.
"Oh... I swear, there's an explanation-"
"There better be!"
"This is going to sound dumb but... I felt too shy to look at you... which is why I avoided you like that."
What? Eunwoo, the most cocky and arrogant president you know, was shy?
"Why in the world were you shy, Eunwoo?"
It wasn't just the slight breeze in the air that was turning his cheeks red, now. He was about to tell you something important.
"Ever since the first day at the orientation week... I thought you were really... attractive. And then, learning about you through all the icebreakers just made things worse. I don't really know how to handle my feelings, so maybe that's why I came across as so rude."
There was silence as you processed everything and starting walking to your dorm again.
"Eunwoo... if you had just cleared this all up a little sooner, we wouldn't have been like cats and dogs," you said, laughing nervously and touching the back of your neck.
"I know, I'm sorry."
"Do you still... like me?" you asked him quietly.
Eunwoo paused before answering. "I don't think I could ever just stop liking you."
Both of you giggled at his cheesy words. You felt like you were on another planet. The boy you'd hated so much turned out to have a crush on you?
"You don't need to tell me how you feel anytime soon. I know there's been a lot of misunderstandings... so let's just clear those up first?" Eunwoo cocked his head to one side.
"If you get to my dorm faster than me, I'll consider it!" you yelled before running in the direction of your residence building.
"I don't even know where you live!" Eunwoo yelled after you, following you along.
"What kind of president are you? You don't even know where your vice president lives?" you yelled back, sticking your tongue out at him.
Suddenly, Eunwoo caught up to you and started racing ahead. Of course he knew where you lived. He liked you.
“Double double, toil and trouble, fire burn and cauldron bubble,” you hum as you steep black tea before shifting to the other part of your station so you could add the guise of vanilla to the milk you were about to steam.
You hear a snort come from your coworker as she looks over to you before smirking, “You think you’re so funny,” she teases while heating up a chocolate muffin for the current order.
“I do, I really do,” you muse, holding the metal pitcher up to the espresso machine’s steam wand. The distinct smell of the liquid luck wafts around as you begin blending it in with the milk; it makes you smile, a comfortingly warm feeling washing over you.
You always hoped people stepped into the shop hearing about the rumors and whole-heartedly believed them; believing in the magic that went into each drink when they ordered something off of the special menus- and that it wasn’t just for the unique taste.
When you first started out, you often heard that with each new employee, the magical feeling tends to die out sooner or later; the happiness of creating spells and potions for others fleeting with the ever-growing pessimism towards all things unexplainable. After working at the shop for three years, one would think the feeling would have caught up to you, instead you felt anything but. With each new regular whose eyes sparkled with excitement as you handed them their unique concoction of a drink, your smile grew wider. Sometimes the familiar faces would come back and whisper about how each drink gave them the right energy to deal with each individual situation… almost like magic. You could do nothing but smile, sometimes a coy little wink was added, exciting the customer more and more. They'd leave with a newfound pep in their step. That's what has kept you going for so long. All anyone ever has to do was keep an open mind and believe that true magic does exist, and when you do, it's almost as though a door opens up, full of delightful possibilities.
As you called out the finished order and thanked the satisfied customer, the shop’s entrance bell chimed, welcoming in the newest one.
You look up and made eye contact with someone who seemed oddly familiar; you tend to remember almost every person that has shown up more than twice at the cafe, so the fact that you can't fully recognize him only shows that the cafe couldn't have been where you’ve known him from... You couldn't quite put your finger on where you've seen him before but you definitely couldn't forget the welcoming aura he radiated. With his black hair pulled into a ponytail, exposing his undercut, and his extra large t-shirt hanging off of his lean frame, he flashed a bright smile, heading up to the counter to order.
Accustomed to ‘hey’s, ‘hi’s, or even an immediate order, the first thing out of his mouth somewhat surprised you. With a tilt of the head and a squint of the eyes, he mumbled out, “.. You look really familiar.” as he tried to place the face.
“You know, I was thinking the same thing...” you trailed off.
After a few seconds of analysis with no conclusion, he seemed to shrug and let out a little chuckle with a passive “it'll probably come to me in the middle of my next class…” before his eyes caught sight of the menus off to the side. Not wanting to make it too obvious that you were tempted to stare, you aimed your gaze elsewhere, only occasionally sneaking a glance at him while he was preoccupied with the menu.
“Ahh… can I get…” he kept his sights on all the options he could, as if it was going to make him any more decisive. Part of you hoped to hear something special, something magical, only to hear, “uhh a… hot latte please?”
While a very solid drink, you subconsciously waited to hear a flavor come after it; staring at him, almost in a daze.
“Did I forget something...?” Your eyes grew wide, mind blank, trying to come up with an excuse for the elongated silence but before you could spout something out, his smile grew as he rolled his eyes, “Oh, duh, I forgot the size!” A breathy laugh came after his revelation and your chest  felt lighter once the sound hit your ears. “Could I get a large please?”
“Yeah, absolutely!” you chime as you grab a large paper cup and mark down his order with a sharpie.“Will that be all for you today?” looking back up at him, your customer service smile makes its awaited appearance like clockwork as it did when wrapping up every order. His eyes darted to the full pastry case before he could conclude, causing an actual smile to grace your lips, “Tempted?”
“One way or another, yea,” he said with an undertone of something else being implied, causing your cheeks to heat up. The smile that he threw in there further caused a little flutter of your heart.
“Well luckily for you, we just restocked, so you've got a wide range of goodies to choose from.”
He licked his bottom lip and smoothly responded with, “Well which is your favorite?”
“My favorite? Hmm… Well, I always love a good chocolate croissant whenever I'm drinking regular lattes. The chocolate adds in that kick of sweetness that compliments the lack thereof with the coffee and bonus, it's not too heavy where it will make you feel bloated.``
“You really know how to sell a guy… That sounds amazing. Could I have that, please?” the tone in his voice was playful, fun, possibly flirty- and that was something that you were not going to think about. He’s a customer; he might not come back when he wants his next cup of coffee.
“You want me to warm it up for you?”
“Sure!”
Picking up the prongs, you took the freshest croissant from the batch and placed it in the microwave oven, turning back around.
You voiced his total with a soft smile, “Cash or card?”
“Card. uh .. Can I leave a tip on here?”
Cue the airy sigh that left your chest. A man who knows to leave a tip: you were in love with him already.
“Yea!” you squeak before clearing your throat, “Yea, once you remove your card, the option should pop up on the screen!”
You throw one more smile back at him before turning around to start his drink, not missing the incredibly hard stare your coworker was giving you. You try not to look at them throughout the duration of making his drink.
Handing the handsome man his order, your hands lightly brushed against his and you fought hard to ignore the hefty thump in your chest. You looked back up at him and swore that there was a tint of rose dusted across his cheeks.
You saw the beginning of his outburst before you could hear it.
“Sero!” he said quickly, “Sero Hanta. That’s my name.”
You smiled, sticking out your hand and saying your name, “I’ll be sure to remember it… Sero.”
The rest of the shift went by pretty quick after that. Your coworker couldn't keep their mouth shut about how he was flirting with you and how you just so happened to be flirting back. You two were giggling so much that the rest of the shift just seemed to slip away and before you know it, it was time to clock out.
“Is there anything you want me to do before I head out?” you shout, asking the newly present night shift as you’re halfway out the door.
“No no, we got it,” both your coworkers chime, “just hurry up and get to class!” one of them adds.
Rolling your eyes, you wave goodbye, double checking that everything needed for class was in your bag before fully lugging one of the straps onto your shoulder and heading off.
The walk wasn't that far from the shop, luckily- taking your time and enjoying the world around you was such a cooldown from the hustle and bustle of your work shifts.
The college town was quaint, warm, homely; It felt like everywhere was a short walk away- which it was. There was an ample amount of time for you to stroll to class after one of your shifts.
As you peruse down the street, you took note of how bright it felt this time of day and how soft the glow emanating from the sunlight hitting the trees was; the kiss of the sun heated your skin, allowing you to bask in the warmth of everything: the environment, the vibe, the mood. What a great feeling.
Random thoughts passed in and out of your brain as you got to the entrance of campus- but the continuous train of thought halted at the station when the image of that man who came into the shop, the one with the undercut- Sero Hanta, popped up.
He was really attractive… where had you seen him before?
You mindlessly head towards the lecture hall, with the image of Sero’s face ever present behind your eyelids. The approaching building was a beautiful brick with ivy climbing up the side, a framed golden plaque near the large double doors announced that people were about to enter the Mirai Sasaki building- something you would normally stop to admire but today, you headed straight inside and towards your seat, still mentally preoccupied.
Plopping down, you situate yourself, getting everything out; your textbook, notebook, pens, pencils and even a highlighter. You take a deep breath before slightly shaking your mind to wake up and concentrate on the human sexuality lecture that was about to start. Sero Hanta can wait.
Is what you told yourself and yet, the thought of him wouldn't leave you alone. It went so far as even hearing the professor call out his name.
“So, I just wanted to clarify,” your ears perk up at the voice, “The article you gave us was about how unequal the orgasm ratio- the orgasm gap- is for women… but I feel like there is a new wave of um… feminine orgasm appreciation. Not to get too personal, but I know between my friends and I, we make sure that our partners always come… first.” He trailed off at the last part, probably coming to terms with the awkward phrasing he had ended with.
You had to take a second to get a grip; too many things were happening at once and the one that held most of your attention was the fact that Sero Hanta blatantly admitted to wanting the girl to orgasm first.
What a gentleman.
“Thank you for your… input … mister Sero- but with what you pointed out, it’s actually a perfect segway into the first project of the semester! If you notice in your syllabus, I typed a very vague title for the next class’s date. We're going to talk about it more next class but until then, please read the assigned articles by the next class and have a good rest of your day!”
While the majority of the class was packed and headed to the door, your eyes stayed glued on Sero as you mindlessly put things away. It seemed as though he was taking his time as well. Maybe he needed to talk to the professor?
Seeing that your desk was now cleared, you slowly began descending down the stairs to get to the floor level, eyes glued to each step in front of you, mind somewhere completely different until your head is met with a firm back. With wide eyes, you step back and begin a stream of apologies, head bowed and eyes still on the floor as if you didn’t learn your lesson the first time. A warm chuckle hushes you accompanied with a light, “It’s alright, it’s alright!”
You look back up and are met with the mind-dizzying smile of the man who failed to leave your thoughts alone.
Before your eyes could get any bigger, he murmurs your name. “So this is where I know you from!” He slightly cheered, lopsided grin growing comfortable.
“Hey! Hey- you guys aren't closing are you?” You hear a panting voice rush through the door- the complete opposite of the energy the cafe currently held. You and your coworker were just winding down from your shift, cleaning and making sure everything was restocked for the next shift, soft music aiding the mood.
Sero was attempting to collect himself when he realized the two pairs of stunned eyes staring at him.
“I just- I wanted to walk with you to class. If that’s cool,” he said to you, flattening his shirt down, “and maybe get a coffee.”
Warmth fills your face as you try to suppress a smirk, “in that order?”
The already flustered college student blushed just a bit harder. Before he could come up with a response, your smirk eased into a soft smile, “okay Sero, what could I get you to drink?”
He steps further inside and orders the same thing he got the first time: a large hot latte. It doesn't take long until the drink is in his hand and you're shooing him off to a table, “I’ll be done in like 10 minutes, is that alright?” you ask, hints of your customer service mannerisms kicking in. He nods and you get back to cleaning, unaware that your movements became a bit swifter.
After clocking out, you’re met with an eager grin and a glint of something unnameable in sero’s eyes.
“The coffee was excellent, by the way. Both times I had it. Do you do something to it? I feel like it’s so much more than just a simple latte.”
You smile at two things, him opening the door for you, and the fact that he was absolutely oblivious to the fact that his drink is one of the few drinks you don’t add any magical properties to.
“I make it with kindness.” You say as you two start your walk, intertwining your hands behind you.
“So mister Hanta… have you been stalking me?”
His eyes grow wide as his cheeks taint red, “N-no! I just thought that maybe you work every shift that’s before our class.”
“Hmmm… So were you going to come by every day to test out your theory if i wasn't there today?”
“Well, luckily you were there, so I guess we’ll never know the answer.”
After you hummed out a response, the walk turned into a comfortable type of silent.
The both of you had several things passing through your mind, but outwardly, one was caught up basking in the fresh spring air while the other was admiring how the wind would slightly shift your hair.
Deciding to break the silence, you turned to face him, “Hey, so, why did you choose to take human sexuality?”
He didn't seem surprised to hear the question but he took a moment; it didn't seem like he was scrambling to find the perfect answer, it was almost like he just couldn't properly find the words.
“Honestly, I love intimacy. I think its really cool that not one person’s views on sex and sexuality and the miniscule details within it, are the same.”
While the words you were hearing made sense, it must have shown that you weren't prepared for such an insightful answer because he let out a hearty laugh that seemed to go on and on, even after he took a deep inhale.
“I’m sorry-” he choked out as he grabbed his chest, “your face just-” he gulped another breath of air, trying to regain composure.
Throughout his fit of laughter, you almost joined in a few times if it weren’t for you biting your cheek in attempts to keep the annoyed facade up.
As soon as it seemed like he got it all out, you try to pull a convincing pout.
“So what's the real answer, then?”
He cocks his head at your question, a smile still playing on his lips, “whaddya mean?”
“You're telling me that what you said wasn't just to catch me off guard?”
“Oh! No no, that's really why I'm taking the class. But i bet you thought i was going to say something asshole-y like ‘i just wanna learn more about sex so i could be better’, hm?” he said the last part in a dopey voice before smirking back at you.
You rolled your eyes in return, “not necessarily, that was just a really… refreshing… answer.”
By the time you got to class, it seemed pretty full, which was a bit odd seeing as though there was still some time before the lecture started. Part of you was hoping that you could snag a seat next to Sero or he could snag a seat next to you- but both of your usual seats were surrounded by others already. There was also always the possibility that maybe he didn't want to sit next to you; you didn't want to get your hopes up so you turned to him, waved goodbye, and headed to your normal seat. Unbenounced to you, he physically slouched in disappointment before heading to his spot.
The lesson went on, and while he wasn't crowding your mind today, you subconsciously kept stealing glances at him throughout the lecture in hopes that one of the times you'll find him glancing back at you. The only time you did catch him staring at you was with wide eyes when the professor announced that you two were going to be partners for the upcoming project.
“So I guess this means it's an appropriate time to ask for your number… I wanted to ask you for it but I didn't want to move too fast…?” he said as you two approached eachother after class, cracking a shy smile while he absentmindedly scratched the back of his neck, a subltle flex of his muscles on display. It was a bit hard to concentrate with a combo move like that attacking you, as if he was going in for the kill.
“I wouldn't have thought it was too fast.” you softly counter, flashing him a tender smile.
It was one thing to feel the heat go to your face, it's another to visibly see it appear on his.
You both traded phones at the same time with the promise to text each other later that night; you put a little coffee emoji by his name while he put the sun next to yours.
Sitting at the furthest table away from the register, you start to unpack your laptop and make yourself comfortable- you're gonna be here a while. Powering up the device, Hanta pulls at the seat across from you and begins to mimic your movements.
“So you want our first project meeting… at a coffee shop?” you start, trying to keep the smile from coming onto your face. Looking up at him would mean automatic defeat seeing as it's getting harder and harder for you to look at him without your lips twitching upward.
“I thought it would be very symbolic.”
A snort greeted both of your guy’s ears as your eyes went wide and your hands shot up to cover your mouth. “Anyway, so the project.”  Blushing around him was starting to become a regular occurrence, as well.
“Right,” he says clapping his hands and rubbing them together.
“So the project is to point out common sexual misconceptions and back it up with statistics and research articles. The fact that we got dibs on the misconception of the orgasm gap all because you had bragged about your personal sex life…” the thought alone shot a wave of warmth down your spine and right to your lower region. A flash of a Sero you hadn’t faced yet appeared in your imagination; him looking up at you, hungry and eager to please. It made your breath hitch.
“Well, yea! I had to voice it. I mean, I feel like it’s common sense! When you have sex by yourself, then you can focus on what makes you feel good and what makes you cum. But when you’re with a partner…” he trailed off and your gaze snapped to him, “you should make sure they cum at least once before doing… whatever you two.. had.. planned on… doing.” Sero finished, his eyes flickered between your eyes and lips.
Oh fuck.
You felt yourself throb.
“Y-yea! Uh I completely a-agree.”
It’s almost as though he could tell that you were flustered so just to top it off, he smirked, “Good. I’m glad we’re on the same page.” before deciding to drop it and move on.
He took a sip of his drink and sighed, “You guys really do make the best coffee. I got the same thing as I did with your place and yet… I'm here longing for your coffee.” you snort once again.
After that, the conversation eased into the project and what exactly needed to be done; the assignment was very simple but sorting out what dates you guys were going to meet up and how exactly you were going to go about gathering the information was all crucial. The project was due in a month and needed to be submitted in powerpoint format- which the both of you were relieved about.
It was really cute seeing Hanta’s eyes all lit up when it came to the part of how you two were going to go about getting all the information needed. He even suggested to conduct a little side research if you guys were ahead of schedule. It was something that made your heart patter. It was almost like you had smelt some of the charmed rose petals from work because every time you looked at him, you couldn't stop the warmth that flooded in your chest.
With that thought, there was the fact that he was more than likely going to be spending large amounts of time at the cafe- would he notice? Should you just come straight out and explain it? Explain that you were considered a witch, someone who was open-minded and was in tune with their intuition and can work with certain herbs, charms, and spells to create wonderful things? It didn't seem that big of a deal to you, it was something you had grown up with; simple spells and practices that just made day to day life more simple. Not every witch has been through the same childhood you had, there’s no special school- not that you were aware of, anyway. Your parents kept their grimoire out in the open and let you frolic about as they eased basic wholesome rituals into your life, and when you got old enough, they let you take in chapter by chapter each spell they casted, each potion they brewed.
When you applied at the cafe, your first interview was full of normal questions worded in a way that almost sounded like it had a double meaning, thankfully you caught it and later was asked for a second interview- conducted by the boss himself. He had asked you to perform a basic potion/drink you grew up with, something that made you feel like you were walking on air. It was simple; a butterfly pea tea with a breath of life, with just a little bit of lemon activated the spell in the brew. When the well made drink hit his tongue, he offered you the job not a second later.
No. You wouldn't tell Sero yet. It never came up; It’d be odd to tell him straight off the bat- there's really no need. If he ever asks… then you’ll tell him.
But he hadn't so far.
Each meeting so far felt incredibly productive. It seemed like getting work done came naturally, with the topic being easy to discuss between the two of you and getting the articles to support your claim was fairly simple- apparently a lot of studies have been done about people’s orgasms.
Since drafting up a skeleton outline the first time meeting, the bits and pieces really started coming together, but the get-togethers sometimes didn't go as planned- however, what was a constant was that no matter what the meet-up consisted of, there would always be a paper cup from your work, filled with a hot latte.
Some of the days, rather than working on the project, the two of you would use the allotted time to sit in your cafe and goof off, or sometimes you would host “tea time” in your apartment and talk about anything and everything- and it was okay because very early on, you both gathered all the adequate articles that involved your topic and sifted through them to get the statistics you needed. Collecting the data was simple enough and putting it together just came easy to you.
Looking up from your laptop, finally done with sorting all the cited sources in each slide, you wave your hand at Sero to get his attention. Hanta was working on phrasing the facts and statistics from each work, so when he tilted his head up, gaze still on the screen until he finished typing the last sentence, he took his headphones out and hummed as he looked at you.
“You get the same thing everytime we’re together… why?”
He glanced at his almost empty cup before fully taking out his headphones, “I get it all the time because it really is the best latte I've ever gotten from a cafe before. I tell you this all the time.”
“You never… wanna try anything new?”
“Is there something in particular you want me to try?” he asks, quirking his eyebrow upwards.
“Well no, not necessarily…”
“Well then how about you give me a recommendation? What’s a drink you think I would love?”
This one stumped you for a minute. Though the thought had crossed your mind quite often, you couldn't quite pinpoint which special drink he’d appreciate the most. Something warm… something reflecting how you feel about him.
“I think that you should get the Time Flies; it's this black tea latte with orange zest and it's really… cozy.”
“Okay, I'll try it the next time I go.”
And he did. The first sip he took felt like smooth gold hitting his tongue. So warm and rich that it had apparently induced the vivid image of the sunset from his grandmother’s porch. He was remembering the orange glow of everything the light touched. The whole day, he was feeling incredibly nostalgic, he even did some of the things he used to do when he was a kid, like watch old black and white movies and make dinner with his mom (even if it was through a phone call).
He told you all of this with one of the most handsome smiles you've ever seen, and that's saying a lot.
 “So,” you start once everything is situated on your living room table, the two floor pillows that play hosts to your guy’s lower halves sit diagonal from each other.
“So.”
“Everything is practically done, I just wanted to… call this meeting so we could just quickly skim over it and see if there was anything in the powerpoint that needed fixing and or adjusting.”
“Very reasonable reason to call this meeting but both of us have been looking at this practically nonstop… so I’m pretty sure it's good.”
“Well it’s due next class and I know we finished it up a few a couple of days ago but… there is absolutely nothing wrong with striving for perfection. And if anything, I’m trying to save your reputation.” he choked at the accusation you were attempting to make, “Oh yea! How are you going to get away with making that bold statement in front of the class, do a whole project on it, and then just… have it not be anything short of jaw dropping?” you didn't even wait for him to speak, “exactly. Your rep is on the line, I'm just the sorry person who got stuck with you.” You smirk, driving your ludacris point home while crossing your arms over your chest.
Scoffing, he leaned over and lightly shoved you, “we got to choose are partners for this project! You chose to be with me!” his cry caused a chuckle to fall from your mouth as you readjusted yourself onto your pillow, “that's neither here nor there.” you try your best snotty act as you stick your nose up in the air.
“Okay okay then, your grace, let us go over the powerpoint,” he jested along and gave you a slight bow.
After a quick runthrough, everything seemed spick and span, so the two of you became more relaxed and sunk into the larger floor pillows once again.
“So… I noticed that you finally got something from your shop.” Sero gestured over to the other paper cup on the table. “I have never seen you with your own coffee before, why today?”
Your cheeks involuntarily began to heat up; the drink he was referring to was none other than the Love Me or Love Me Not. Usually, you never went out of your way to make it, but for the occasion, it was necessary. It was the last time you guys were going to meet up for the project and you just… had to know.
Let it be known, messing with love potions wasn’t your forte, you preferred for everything romantic to be consensual and untampered with- that's why this brew in particular was one that you preferred out of all the ones that are out there. When made correctly, the person drinking it should be able to look at their crush (in person) and if the crush liked them back, then the drinker would get a fierce wave of goosebumps; if the person did not like them romantically, their head world ache for just a few minutes before going back to normal. Simple and effective, plus no one gets roughed up or drugged.
Not a single sip had been taken yet, you were on edge about the situation. This was the first time you had ever made it for yourself, and it was pretty nerve wracking to see if this man who you began harboring feelings for liked you the same.
It’s surely gone cold by now but that wasn’t going to stop you. “Oh! Uh- I was just really craving this drink today.” You say lamely before bringing the cup to your lips and taking a gulp.
The smell of rose hit your nose before you could register the taste. The evenly sweet syrup paired with the strong espresso danced on your tongue before you swallowed it. You softly sighed, it tasted delicious. Another sip slipped past your lips.
A roll of relief cascaded through you when an intense wave of goosebumps rose on your poked at your skin, causing you to cough and sputter. Eyes going wide and squeezing shut as the coughs wracked through your body.
He likes you.
While coming down from your fit, you semi glance at Hanta who had almost instantly appeared by your side, patting and gently rubbing your back.
“Is there liquor in that?” He joked as he handed you your drink so you could have more liquid to ease your throat.
You shook your head after drinking some more and cracking a grin. It might’ve been too big of a smile for someone who just choked but you didn’t care. Sero Hanta… likes you.
Unable to help it, you glance down at his lips only to realize how close he is. Your grin slowly drops, your heart pounding in your chest.
“Can I uh.. can I try your drink?” He says, face red with blush.
As you go to hand him your drink, he leans in and cups your jaw- causing your whole body to still, even your heart stopped to join the languor.
 He peaks his tongue out to softly lap up a drop that must have been on your lip, before capturing your lips with his.
It felt like your mind shut down, and all you can feel is how soft his lips are and how sweetly he’s kissing you. Almost hesitantly.
He pulls away in attempts to find your gaze to decipher how you felt about it.
Your breath is ragged as you look back at him- everything and nothing is going on in your head in that moment, unable to speak, until you see the goosebumps that coat his body.
Your heart thumps impossibly faster as you realize that not only does he like you… but he truly believes. He believes in the two of you, he believes in love, and he believes in magic.
Without another second to waste, you tackle him in a hug and find your lips on his in a way that you know you’ll never get enough of.
special extra ! : you and Hanta in the fall- Season of the Witch with almond milk, hot; dirty chai latte with a bewitched cinnamon stick to help keep you warm ;) , even on the coldest of days ˚✧₊⁎⁺˳✧༚
The cold nips at your nose just as big hands nip at your waist, causing you to let out a noise between a squeak and a gasp. A flash of soft black hair blurred your vision before cold lips meet yours. “Hanta,” you sigh into the kiss before pulling away and giggling.
You were heading back to your apartment after a day shift at work, the sky already becoming darker because of the autumnal equinox.
“What are you doing? I thought I was gonna meet you at my place.” You say as your fingers intertwined and your step fell into pace with his. He pulled you closer so that you were basically leaning into him as you walked.
“You know those chocolate and pumpkin scones you baked for me? The special ones?” He quietly moaned.
Your eyes go wide as he purposely guided your intertwined hands over his blatant bulge.
“Hanta you weren’t supposed to eat those until later, the spell usually kicks in within the next 30 minutes!” You giggle again.
A few weeks after you two started officially dating, you formally sat him down and explained everything you didn't when talking about your guys’ past- the memories of frolicking through tall grass and talking to your mother’s familiar, to getting your job at the cafe. He told you that it was a lot to take in, but never did he push you away. When he went to the cafe, he was more observant. Somewhere in the months between June and July, he slowly became more and more interested in the rituals you would do and the potions you would make. He wanted to start joining in. Now in October, he loves seeing your crystals around your house and all the different herbs you grow in the sills of your window. When he found out that you could bake magical pastries with certain herbs, he almost immediately asked you to bake him some. At first, it started as something simple like a sage and rosemary savory loaf that helped cleanse your pallet of any negative energy. Then it started becoming more and more intricate, and that's how the two of you ended up here.
 “I know but fuck-- I was hungry and they looked so good, and now I’m hard and I need you.” he spoke lowly.
This was going to be fun.
The rest of the way, you were casually asking him things that shouldn't be heard in a public setting, “What is it you want to taste first, Hanta?”
“How badly do you want to fuck me into the mattress? Hm? Have your big cock stretch me out?”
“Wanna fill me up?”
By the time you both got to your apartment, there was no fumbling with the keys to get your door to open, you already had them out; getting through the door took three seconds tops. Next thing you know, your back was against the closest wall, your hands pulling at his tied up hair and scraping your nails against his scalp when the soft locks fell. One of his big hands lifted up a leg of yours and he groaned as he thrust upward against your heat.
“Fuck-” he panted into the kiss before trailing down your neck, still holding up one leg while the other hand finds itself under your shirt, his fingers hot to the touch.
Releasing your leg and dropping to his knees, he looked up at you as he fumbled with the button of your pants. You lace your fingers in his hair, feeling him yank the material down your legs, tossing the one leg over your less dominant leg over your shoulder, and when a warm muscle hits your sopping clothed core, you pull his hair harder to apply more pressure.
“Look at me when I have you in my mouth, I wanna see how much you enjoy this.”
You felt yourself clench, and apparently so did he, because a smirk grew on his lips. “Oh, you like when I say things like that?”
“H-hanta, please.. '' your voice wavered before you sucked in a sharp gasp. He had a finger, then two inside of you in no time, the other hand keeping the underwear out of the way so his lips could wrap around your clit.
He was pumping in and out of you faster and faster, occasionally switching the pace to unbearably slow and when you would whine, he’d tilt his head up, mid lick, to throw you a teasing glance before picking up the pace. He bagan curling his fingers, hitting a spot that had your eyes rolling and with the pressure building up, it had you panting out a breathy repetitive stream of his name.
“‘M gonna cum Hanta, hh-” you moaned out before clenching your eyes shut, your body involuntarily shaking above him. And right below you, he was ready to lick up everything you had to offer.
Holding you steady as he came up to kiss you, your juices still on his lips, “you ready for me, sweetheart?” he asked when he pulled away. The short sobering moment hit as soon as he scooped you up and carried you to the bedroom, but after he tossed you onto the bed, the look he gave you as he was unbuttoning his pants drew your mind hazy again.
“Can't wait to pump you full of my cum, to have you a drooling mess because of my cock.” he huskily whispered, giving you so many delicious previews of how the night will go. “You want that, pretty? Use your words.” he said as he crawled over to you and caged you in. The scent of cedar wood and citrus clouded your senses.
“Yes please Hanta!” you whine, “wanna feel stuffed b’cause of your cum. Please fill me up--” you whimper out, cutting yourself off when you felt his leaky tip at your wet entrance.
Just like each time you two have been intimate, he guides himself slowly until he's in to the hilt of his pelvis, “shit, squeezing me so hard- c-an i move?” he moans out.
Unable to form coherent sentences, you frantically nod and squeak out, “yes!”
With your permission granted, he eases in a thrust before he starts snapping his hips into you.
“Fuck, look at you, milking my cock so good-” he moaned, as he leaned in and kissed you. Each sharp thrust jolted you upwards, proving just how powerful his thrusts were. You threw your arms around his neck for the slight stability.
You began to let out little moans into the kiss that spurr him further; everything was beginning to get to him. How tight you felt around him, the feel of your tongue against his, the sloppy wet noises of your cunt.
“I’m gonna cum-- i'm gonna cum!” he choked out.
You clawed at his back while whimpering pleas for him to fill you up, “fill me up with your cum, your cock fills me so good, please Hanta, more- more!”
You were clenching around him hard, and to bring you right to his level, he found your puffy clit and began a quick circular motion that made your jaw go slack, causing more frequent clenches.
His mind blurred as he pushed himself the deepest he could, moaning out your name and a gruff curse before emptying himself into you.
You felt him twitch inside of you right before hot seed coated your already warm walls, and that’s what pushed you into a convulsion of ecstasy.
He lazily humped his hips into you as you rode out your high before pulling out and rolling next to you.
Calling out your name to bring your attention to him, he pulls you into his chest where you could feel his racing heart, “what if… I started singing that song from hocus pocus? You know the one..”
What a goof, you thought to yourself, playfully smacking his chest as you roll your eyes, looking up at him.
“I put a spell on you… and now you're mine…” you begin to whisper, earning a hearty laugh from you boyfriend.
Maybe it was mutual, but quite possibly he had put a spell on you. And you were more than okay with it.
